Ohio is in the news a lot lately. It's the 24th state to legalize adult use cannabis sales with the vote of 57-43 percent for the initiative in the November 2023 election. Now, nearly 7 months down the line, we are excited that initial applications for Ohio Adult Use licenses are open for existing medical operators in the state and provisional licenses will be issued by September 7, 2024 (but hopefully sooner!). So, how can operators ensure that they start off on the right foot? Check out our latest writeup! https://lnkd.in/eqqatEtN #cannabis #ohiocannabis #leaflink #legalcannabis

Yesterday in the PA House Transportation Committee, my bill passed with bipartisan support to end our commonwealth’s zero tolerance policy that needlessly criminalizes responsible, law-abiding drivers who are medical cannabis patients. #cannabis #medicalcannabis #cannabisDUI

NORML's recent submission of public comments to the DEA, advocating for the removal of cannabis from Schedule I, marks a significant step in the ongoing fight for cannabis reform. The organization highlights the growing body of scientific evidence and the broad public support for cannabis legalization. This move underscores the urgent need to reevaluate outdated policies that hinder medical research, criminalize non-violent behavior, and disproportionately affect marginalized communities. As cannabis laws evolve, it is crucial for the DEA to align with current scientific understanding and public sentiment, paving the way for a more just and rational approach to cannabis regulation. 🔗⬇️ https://lnkd.in/e5GQBZCB #cannabis #cannabislaws #cannabisreform #cannabiscommunity #cannabisculture #schedule1 #dea #legalizeit

A market with with $2.3 billion dollars in losses? 92% of the market unrealized? Mostly all losses to the traditional market and legal issues that could have been avoided. 95% of $150m going to an oligopoly of dispensaries and AUCC/AUCPs…7% of 463 retail dispensaries to sell 100% of AUCCs inventory? 37 of 200 dispensaries promised in year 1? Illegal, out of state brands on dispensary shelves? 0-4 on lawsuits. 200 farmers barely scraping by or on the brink of failure. Looks like success to me.

Almost every #cannabisleader we heard from felt, to some degree, that asimply rescheduling cannabis wouldn't go far enough. Including Evan Nison founder of NisonCo PR, SEO and Content Marketing: “I’m happy to see the federal government finally acknowledge the clear medical benefits cannabis can provide, but Schedule 3 is not a suitable long-term solution. Cannabis should be fully legal and available for all adults. The only way to achieve that is by descheduling – not rescheduling – cannabis.” Read the full expert round up: https://lnkd.in/giKCACCz
