I’ve been a full-time journalist for 19 years. That’s a long time to do anything. My girls have no idea what I do for a living, and that’s fine. But it occurred to me that I might be doing something other than journalism by the time they’re old enough to remember. So the girls came to watch an episode of Next the other night. Who knows what the future will bring, and whether they will have any memories of their Dad as a journalist. But they’ll have this photo, and I’ll tell them that we tried to do work that mattered and that we tried to make Colorado a better place. And I’ll tell them what my parents told me: whatever you do, do work that matters.
"Whatever you do - do something that matters." It sounds like they have a great mentor to follow. You're an inspiration to me at least
And that you do! I moved to Tennessee in November and waiting your show is one of the things I miss most. I wish there were journalists like you in every town. You're the best of the best, and you DO make a difference.
The need for true journalism is vital today. Keep up the good work!
You just never know how you may have inspired something in them. Strong work Sir.
It matters! 👏🏽
Wonderful! They can make a difference
Sounds like you’ve had great parents. Excellent picture.
Keep it up, Kyle! You are crushing it!
