Roaring Kitty Returns, GameStop Soars 40% The shares of video game retailer GameStop soared 40% in pre-market trading on Monday after the social media persona “Roaring Kitty” returned with a post on X after a three-year hiatus, reports Reuters. He posted a sketch of a person leaning forward in a chair, which among gamers is known as a sign that something is becoming serious. Keith Gill, known as "Roaring Kitty" on YouTube and "DeepF***ingValue" on Reddit, played a key role in the so-called meme stock rally in the end of January 2021 when the shares of GameStop surged 400% before crashing back to pre-surge levels in the following week. Now, GameStop is trending on investor-focused social media stocktwits.com, which indicates interest from individual investors. GameStop shares jump 30% after ‘Roaring Kitty’ trader posts account showing $116 million position. GameStop rallied again Monday on speculation Keith Gill, who goes by Roaring Kitty on X and YouTube, could have a huge position in the video game retailer.
