Success in today’s networked global environment with rapidly increasing stakeholder expectations and often in the fishbowl of social media requires constantly examining key strategic aspects of your business to ensure they are working together and efficiently contributing to short and long-term results.

The impact space is fast moving and dynamic. Recently I had the privilege of speaking with Dr. Nzinga Broussard, Kathryn Colton, Erin Ram and Nina Tschinkel on impact measurement and reporting best practices. We spoke about the balance of qualitative and quantitative data, the role of storytelling, the challenges with data quality, approaches for aligning incentives with goals, market trends and more. I'd like to share my personal experience with you all. 🕰️ Back when I was studying broadcast journalism, I envisioned a career behind the camera, capturing stories and sharing them with the world. Little did I know that life had a different plan in store for me. 🥹 Today, I proudly wear multiple hats as the Chief of Staff, Group Communications and CSR Manager, and ESG Co-Chair at Taylor’s Education Group. I'm also a Certified Coach (ICF) and a GRI Certified Sustainability Professional. To top it off, I just completed my PhD in Organisation Behaviour. 🤩 It's incredible how life's twists and turns have led me to uplift vulnerable communities and advocate for positive change in the corporate world. The intersection of my roles, from journalism to coaching and sustainability, is where my passion truly thrives. This is a gentle reminder that your academic path/course may not always align with your destination, and that's okay. Embrace the opportunities that come your way and trust the process. It's never too late to pivot, to learn new skills, and to chase your dreams. 💪 So, if you find yourself at a crossroads, be brave.
