They start you out young, with a disturbing amount of heavy metals in formula for babies. From there on in, through life, the available food options contain: preservatives, additives, fillers, and unnecessarily sweetened/full of sodium, etc. Any food options that are considered healthy, are still lower par than what it should be and are much more expensive. However, in this case, you have to pick your poison: either you pay for healthier products now (if you can afford it, which I know many people really can’t which is a whole other topic in itself) OR pay for it later in medical bills, medications, and therapies. Even if you make a simple switch on one item that is healthier, it’s still better than nothing. The entire food industry needs an overhaul. And the “Food” part of the Food and Drug Administration needs more funding, people and enforcement, because it’s more like the Drug and Food Administration. There is so much more funding and attention given to the drugs part.
