I mentioned a few weeks ago I started my consultation company, Benne Media Solutions, a one-stop shop for small to medium companies. In doing so, I still prowl job boards for viable positions that can be contracts. Seeing this job by Podimo made me investigate further and conclude that this is two jobs mixed into one. Technically 4 jobs if there aren't senior managers. Four people are needed to achieve the KPIs this job is looking for:
- Senior Content Manager
- Social Media Manager
- Senior Community Manager
- Community Manager
This is a full team to help the company grow as needed. I understand that this means more people on the payroll. At the very least, split this into 2 jobs. It's hard for a community manager to do socials while making sure the community is growing. Two create a team to bounce off each other.
The community manager can focus on growing the community and feed ideas to the social media person to let them know what the community asks.
The social media manager can work with the community manager and let them know what type of people are looking to join the community.
They both will be able to get a grasp of the type of people who are in the community and then target that demographic and grow exponentially.
And their senior managers can help focus on the bigger picture and lead their team in the right direction.
Having one person do both cuts down productivity, and creativity, and increases burnout.
I know jobs are precious right now, but please don't put yourself in a position that compromises your mental.
