This is where I was born, and where I came from... A very small village in the South of Spain, close to Seville, with a population of less than 3,000 inhabitants today, who make a living mainly out of agriculture. Something magical happens every year in October. It feels like all my 3,000 childhood neighbours and friends use a time machine to take the whole village back to the 1500s by hosting the Silk Fair. Our Silk Fair was a milestone during the Spanish Empire and serves as a reminder of the village's historical significance, attracting thousands of visitors annually. In 2023, Pablo, an Archaeology Director, and my best childhood friend, was in charge of renovating the Old Castle and organising the fair. Our Medieval Castle is our main symbol, and Pablo understands that is also the main attraction for visitors. Every little thing had to be perfect and Pablos' attention to detail continues to astonish me. Pablo was determined to provide all visitors with a wonderful experience that would encourage them to return year after year. Although Pablo led this project, all neighbours contributed in many different ways. Everyone was aligned. The results of the 2023 Silk Fair were fantastic, and set the records of most visitors ever attended! For most of them, visiting our town was a delightful experience, and next year, they will likely return... and bring more friends! Pablo recognised the importance of delivering exceptional customer experiences, and from my seat at Quantum Metric, where our technology is used by world-leading organisations, to create the best possible digital customer experiences while creating cultures maniacally focused on winning the hearts of their customers... I empathise with this yearly challenge and it makes me feel even more proud of Pablo and my community!
