My company is spending 6 figures on a company retreat in two weeks. Most CEO's think that's insane. They think it's even crazier when I tell them how it's not an off-site with a bunch of meetings and presentations. In fact, we don't have any working sessions at all. So why do we do it? Simple. We are a service business. And our assets are our people. Which means we focus deeply on attracting and retaining top talent. TLDR on our company retreat: 🛫 We fly our people in from all over the country and even across the globe for a weekend of fun, Thursday to Sunday. 🤝 The only plan is to get to know each other better. Especially across teams and departments. 🙅♂️ No agenda. No working sessions. Just the human side of things. 🎉 Fun activities, meals together, out at night, etc. Can we measure the exact ROI on this initiative for the business? Definitely not. But I can feel the impact of it each and every time. When it's all over, people go back home. But they show up to work that following Monday and things are different. ✅ Morale surges. Communication is easier. Healthy conflict comes more naturally. And the bonds that were built become long-lasting. It's one piece to the overall puzzle of how we drive such deep integration across our company. Which is also critical to the integrated marketing work we do for our clients. What do you think? Would you do this for your company? 🤔
Started doing it 2 years ago - Quantauk. A weekend Out East to reset, reconnect and celebrate
is my invite still valid? 😏 🙏 love this!
You're not most CEOs Joe!
Not about the money but about the experiences had together making memories. Well done, Joe.
Team retreats are worth every cent!
Solid - more of this from leaders - great work Joe.
I miss our team retreats, they were worth every dollar
I can tell you in 20+ years as a professional working for enterprise and boutique firms I can only name 1 or 2 leaders who did this for our teams. Whenever I hear about these retreats I’m envious of these types of events. A great way to build up trust within teams and leadership and break down silos. #legend
I aspire to be able to accomplish this with my team one day. Thank you for sharing.

3moShort-term shareholder pressures have stifled these types of company events. Accolades to you for having the kahunas to invest so much in your team and company. It seems, that the progressive and smart companies are investing in the culture and employees more, which engenders loyalty and commitment to the organization, for one, because they know, in the end, turnover costs more and happy employees perform better... for many reasons. Happy people are better workers.
