We’re proud to have earned a 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the foremost U.S. benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars: ☑ Non-discrimination policies across business entities; ☑ Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families; ☑ Supporting an inclusive culture; and, ☑ Corporate social responsibility. Diversity is an important part of our #OneNewell culture, and we know that building a safe and inclusive community starts within our walls. In fact, over a third of LGBTQ+ people feel they need to hide who they are at work. This LGBT History Month, workplaces need to make changes. 🏳️🌈 As Pride Month comes to a close, it's essential to remember that celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community shouldn't be confined to just one month. At the start of Pride Month, I shared a blog post about inclusively celebrating LGBTQ+ history and achievements, along with recommendations for ongoing inclusion efforts year-round. According to a recent study by the Human Rights Campaign, nearly half of LGBTQ+ employees remain closeted at work. This highlights the ongoing need for inclusive workplaces where everyone feels safe and valued. The Significance of Pride Month Pride Month, which is celebrated globally in June each year, is an important commemoration of the LGBTQ+ community's struggle for equal rights and acceptance. It has its roots in the Stonewall Riots of June 1969, a pivotal moment in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. The first Pride march was held in New York City in same month, and since then, Pride Month has become a symbol of the LGBTQ+ community's resilience and the ongoing struggle for equality. Positive Change The Proudfoot's commitment to diversity and inclusion goes beyond theory. By encouraging open conversations, teamwork, and active participation, Proudfoot encourages an inclusive and diverse workplace. Diversity and inclusion are not just ethical principles; they are also a cornerstone of innovation and resilience.
