‘Nurses have played a huge role in my heart failure care. They are empathetic and person-oriented; this is vital to everyday self-management, staying safe and living my life.’ – Steven Macari, person living with heart failure and CEO, Association Vie Et Coeur (AVEC) Specialist heart failure nursing provides numerous benefits to people with heart failure and to health systems, with research suggesting specialist nurse-led care can reduce hospital readmissions for heart failure by up to 33%. Specialist nurses provide vital patient education and help coordinate treatment for people with heart failure along the entire care pathway. However, many EU Member States lack an adequate specialist nursing workforce due to underfunding and lack of training and/or accreditation frameworks. As the prevalence of heart failure continues to increase across the EU, this #NursesDay we celebrate the vital work of heart failure nurses and repeat our call to the EU to prioritise investment in heart failure nursing across Member States. https://lnkd.in/ejk_qD4e

🌟 Join us in Shaping Reality: Exploring the Inner Dialogue of Nurses 🌟 In the vast tapestry of healthcare, nurses are the unwavering threads that bind compassion, skill, and dedication. Each day, we navigate through the highs and lows, seeking to heal, comfort, and support those in need. But amidst the chaos of our noble profession, there lies a profound truth: our thoughts shape our reality. As nurses, we are ingrained with the invaluable ability to identify and address patient-related problems with precision and care. This innate strength fuels our commitment to excellence and drives us to continually strive for better outcomes. However, in the pursuit of perfection, there exists a subtle danger—a danger that often goes unnoticed yet casts a shadow over our interactions and relationships. When our keen focus on identifying problems extends beyond the realm of patient care and infiltrates our interactions with colleagues, it can give rise to negativity and drama. This transference of strength, while rooted in good intentions, can inadvertently sow seeds of discord within our healthcare teams. Instead of fostering a culture of support and camaraderie, it breeds resentment and division. But fear not, for within every challenge lies an opportunity for growth. By acknowledging the power of our thoughts and the impact they have on our reality, we can embark on a journey of self-reflection and transformation. Let us unravel the intricacies of our inner dialogue, exploring the roots of our perceptions and beliefs. Together, let us cultivate a mindset of positivity and empowerment—a mindset that uplifts and inspires both ourselves and those around us. Let us celebrate each other's strengths, offering support and encouragement in times of difficulty. For it is through unity and understanding that we can unlock pathways to personal growth and fulfillment in the noble vocation of nursing. Join us in shaping a reality where compassion reigns supreme, where each interaction is imbued with kindness and understanding. Together, let us illuminate the path forward, forging a brighter future for healthcare—one thought at a time. https://lnkd.in/ggNSXNWX With heartfelt gratitude and unwavering determination. #nurses #ditchthe drama #healthcareleaders

#InternationalNursesDay On this day, we pause to celebrate the extraordinary commitment of nurses worldwide. Every year, May 12th - the birthdate of nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale - marks a day of gratitude for our healthcare warriors. Nurses are at the heart of patient care, often working in the shadows yet shining as beacons of compassion and resilience. These past years, their roles have been especially critical, grappling with unprecedented global health challenges. It's more than a profession; it's a calling that demands an unparalleled blend of strength and empathy. As we reflect on the incredible service nurses provide, let's also consider the journey ahead. In the UK alone, reports suggest a need for 25% more nursing staff to cope with the evolving healthcare landscape. It serves as a stark reminder that whilst we celebrate, we must also advocate for their continuous support and development. It's time we give voice to their invaluable insights, invest in their growth, and ensure they have a professional environment where they can thrive. Nurses, your unwavering dedication neither goes unnoticed nor unappreciated. Today, I invite you to join me in saying a heartfelt "thank you" to these everyday heroes. Share your stories and experiences with nursing excellence. Let's amplify the respect they deserve. #NursesDay2024 #HealthcareHeroes #NurseAppreciation

🌟 Founder / CEO at NeedleCalm 🌟 I'm on a mission to alleviate the impact of #NeedlePhobia on patients and healthcare professionals alike! 🏆 Health Minister's Trailblazer Award Winner 2023 🏆
These legends at VeinTech are part of a growing family of people who understand that it's never JUST a needle. They are committed to optimising every aspect of vein access procedures from devices to protocols. 🙏 NeedleCalm Pty Ltd firmly believe that every healthcare facility should prioritise excellence in needle procedures, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. 🙏 💡 Did you know that improper management of needle procedures and vein access procedures can cost hospitals over $20,000 per day? It's National Nurses Week. I would be remiss if I didn't extend my appreciation and gratitude for what these incredible professionals accomplish day in and day out. Spent my career seeing it first hand, although never have they been under the intense risk and pressure as we see in healthcare today. Conversely, there are more tools and solutions available than ever to streamline care and promote operational efficiencies in our healthcare facilities. From mechanical CPR to free hands during resuscitation, to advanced communications systems that bring care teams together, through developments in AI/machine learning to support clinical review and administration. The list goes on. We need more adoption of these tools to help reduce the burden on nursing and free them for what they do best — delivering care and improving the lives of patients and their families. And preparing for the next generation of nursing professionals. Changing lives. Shaping tomorrow. Thank you. https://lnkd.in/gbY4fC6q #nationalnursesweek #nursing #gratitude
