Owner, NuForm Fitness... GURU for Getting Middle-Aged Guys Back Into Shape Fast so You Can DOMINATE The Game of Life
Make yourself do unpleasant things in order to gain the upper hand over your soul. We bought another group of crazy 50 and 60 something year olds to the Jacksonville Florida Spartan Race this weekend to do battle with the very forces of nature. We endured the severe mud, the swamps, and all the obstacles they could throw at us enroute to several first place finishes. Every man on the team finished the race unscathed and in style including a couple of first timers. If you’re looking to make Father Time’s job a whole lot harder you’ll seek out the situations that make you feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, and even scared. Playing in that comfort zone doesn’t allow you to stretch or grow as a human. Unfortunately the exact opposite happens to you if you spend too much time there, and you don’t feel it until it’s too late. You’ll know you’re on the right path when your friends and family start to look at you a little funny, and ask if you’re doing okay a little more than usual. Getting uncomfortable is not a punishment, in reality it’s way to avoid the punishment that’s coming your way if you keep running from it. Father Time’s coming and it’s my life’s mission to make his job hard as hell⚡️ Message me if you want to get off of the sidelines and back into this amazing fight. #agestronger #livelonger #fightthegoodfight #midlifecrisis #aginginreverse #oldguysrule #strengthcoach #spartanrace #golfouting #menshealth #mensfitness #mensfitnessover50 #canwegonow

Success loves speed. This is a principle I preach to our athletes. Any decision that pushes us closer to success requires speedy action. However, these decisions are typically filled with uncertainty, fear, and discomfort. Successful people understand that inaction in the face of uncertainty, will only hold them back from their greatest potential. And honestly, the fact they feel uncomfortable when taking that action, means it’s exactly what they needed to do to succeed. No one ever got better in their comfort zone. So if your feeling uncertainty, fear, or discomfort. GOOD. Lean into it, take speedy action, and watch yourself succeed. #leavenothingtochance #fightteam #combatsport #sweetscience #girlsthatfight #bjjuk #moderncombatsports #martialartsfamily #nogibjj #fighterslife #bjjforever #goldengloves #cutweight #strengthconditioning #homeofchampions #lightcontact #bjjfriends

“Make friends with pain, and you’ll never be alone.” During my marathon and Ironman training, this quote was my mantra. It’s applicable in all aspects of life If you practice the avoidance of pain (and its many manifestations like disappointment, failure, and discomfort), you will be ill-equipped to deal with pain, which is unavoidable on that and any journey. Instead of looking at pain as a roadblock, see pain as a friend who knows when it’s time to GROW. #pain #growth #law #lawyers #younglawyers #triathlon #run Quote: Ken Chlouber, creator of the Leadville Trail 100

One day to go ✊ and I’ve never been this nervous in such a long time. It’s my first time to do the Spartan race and I’m equal parts giddy and terrified. And isn’t that what life is all about: embracing both the good and the bad. When I turned 40 last year, one of the things I’ve come to love about myself is how I approach things. Some might say I’m too “cerebral”, in that I think about things a lot. Overhink, to a certain degree. But what I’ve come to accept - if not embrace - about myself is that mindset is the single most important thing that I need to prepare in anything I face in life. So now, as I sit here in my desk, I think about these three things as I prepare for tomorrow’s open sprint: 1️⃣ I’ve trained hard and prepared both my mentality and my physicality 2️⃣ I’ve had such an amazing support system, of both co-participants, colleagues, family and friends 3️⃣ I know deep down in my heart that I’m ready to give it my all and lay everything out on the ground tomorrow So, here’s to hoping 🥂 that all racers don’t get injured, we all have a fun, exciting and clean race, and we all come out the other side as winners in our own right and respect🏆 #mentaltoughness #healthandwellness #healthandfitness #midlifejourney #endurance #spartan

There are days, when I stress on outdoing my yesterday's version. This urgency fuels my determination. ... ....... .......... There are such times as well when I just stop rushing, racing and reflect in order to understand what I could have done better in the past works. Amidst this chaos within me, I am trying to find the clarity and in this rush I try to find my true strength. Let this perpetual rush stay while I still stop and gaze to reflect! #norush #performbetter #donotoverthink #dailyoverdose #positivethoughts #accenturekolkata #accentureindia #accenturetechnology #accenturemoments #linkedinfam #linkedin

Post 10: Discipline and Control #Discipline is difficult. It doesn’t come to us naturally. We humans don’t like the slightest fetters on our freedom and comfort. From our times as cavemen, we liked to be footloose and fancy-free. Therefore, discipline is something that you need to consciously instill in your life by making the right #lifestyle choices. Those who are not into #sports or in the #armedforces, may not fully grasp the significance of disciplined life. For #sportspersons and #military personnel, discipline and control are the codes they live by every single day. Discipline is key to their survival, and it helps them overcome #challenges and #setbacks. If you want to bring a touch of discipline into your #life—you need it anyway regardless of your profession—the easiest way you can do it is to take up any sports. Sports make you self-disciplined and changes your daily regimen, from sleeping habits to the #food habits to training regularly. To begin with, it makes you consciously aware of your #health and #fitness which paves the way for many other #healthy #habits. But taking up a #sporting activity is easier said than done. Most sports are not easy to learn and require some inherent talent to pursue it. Further, most of them cost money for sports goods, accessories, and training. So, the obvious choice comes down to the less-intensive sports like #cycling or #running which can be taken up easily by most and relatively don’t cost much. #run #runners #cycles #cyclists #marathon #endurance #fun #happiness
