AI-driven disinformation, such as political #deepfake content, could “undermine public confidence in the electoral process and the credibility of government institutions", according to a new report from Moody's. Whilst new rules are being proposed to require disclosure of #synthetic content in advertisements, and social media platforms are beginning to adopt similar measures, such approaches are not fool-proof and can be difficult to enforce consistently. The only robust method to make a judgement on content #authenticity is by understanding its #origins through #provenance solutions. This marks the beginning of a crucial mindset shift in society, prompting us to re-think how we consume and interpret electoral information. By embracing provenance, we can better protect the integrity of our democratic processes. Read Michelle Castillo's commentary on the report: https://lnkd.in/d8tdWEWu #AI #Elections #Disinformation
