Working on something new that aims to transform the developmental and mental health of 10MM+ kids and families by 2028 ❤️ 🚀

Are retailers truly embracing accessibility or just “access-washing”? Major players like Walmart, Kohls, Nike, Target, and Zappos have said they are all-in on accessibility. Shoutout to the tireless advocates pushing these players to actually start delivering on inclusivity! But here's the billion-dollar question: Is this a genuine commitment or another PR move? Consider this: 15% of our global family has a disability. It makes ethical and financial sense for retailers to include them. Those who see only the $$$ may get a short term boost but seller beware. A vast community is ready to spot and spotlight fake gestures. True inclusivity lies in CO-CREATION. Brands excelling here are not just building solutions for the disability community – they're building with them. A recent case in point is Walmart’s pledge, influenced by their own disabled team members, to work with and source products from disabled entrepreneurs. Retail’s future will be much brighter if it truly reflects the vibrant diversity of our world. Let's celebrate the brands that are fully embracing accessibility but, be ready to hold accountable those merely "access-washing." I'm putting together a deep dive list of various retailer initiatives in accessibility. Chime in with examples in the comments below. Happy to share the full list with those who are interested ...
