As recruiters, where would you rank having to remove all the borders, sub-borders, sub-sub borders and bad formatting from resumes before you submit the resume to your client? It's pretty much Dante's 7th Circle of Hell for me. Why are you using Times New Roman, Arial and Courier on the same resume in 3 different font sizes? Why are you right-justified at 3 different places? Just.......why? And there is my endorsement for Wayne Schofield. Even if you just need a resume cleanup and not an entire re-do, you won't find a more professional or reasonably-priced person to get your resume back on track.
I'm an internal recruiter. We don't.
Some folks believe that you get style points for a resume that looks pretty, is colorful, has bold fonts, has underlined fonts, and italicized writing. Ahhh - no! Well at least not from my experience anyway.
CTRL-A and at least fix the font, my eye is twitching not even reading it
I'd add to take off the pictures from resumes, too.
I never did any formatting, suggestions, but not to do it myself. I'm out looking for a HR Business Partner role myself.
Why do that when you can submit it to ChatGPT and ask it to remove all that and rewrite it?
people think they stand out when their resume looks different. It's true, but not in the way they are hoping.
Most of my roles are for physicians. Most physicians have CVs that are 5-7 pages long. I'm in the 7th circle with you, hanging by a thread. 😂

3moThere's a reason people say 'just the facts, ma'am.'. Lol. Just put the information on there. Stop trying to make it pretty. We're just going to unpretty it. Spend your time crafting your text.
