Many years ago, I consulted for Sony to help them fix up the technical SEO on their website. ~15 years later, with many advances in CMS’ like shopify, technical SEO is still very much a thing. ‘But shopify is technically optimised out of the box?’ Shopify is great, but technical SEO is a lot more than a CMS can do out of the box: - Site speed - Title tag format - Externally linked 404 pages - Robots.txt issues - Internal linking Just to name a few. All of these things are good out of the box, but can degrade over time. Or they can just be optimized further. Shopify doesn’t know the searcher behavior in every niche for example, so it can’t give you title tag formats that are 100% ideal. Any customization done to the base can introduce problems. Internal link architecture (passing strength about the site) if you put that in the technical box, also can’t possibly come ‘done for you’. It’s dangerous to assume your site is optimized because you’re on a modern, popular CMS. You’re probably in better shape than many, but you could have a big problem holding you back and not know it. #Shopify #Technical #SEO

💻SEO Compatible Product Descriptions: Get Ready to Discover Your Online Store 🤖Being successful in the e-commerce world requires using the right strategies so that your target audience can find your products. One of these strategies is to create SEO compatible product descriptions. Here are the basic principles of SEO compatible product descriptions that will get your online store discovered: 👾 1. Use Keywords Strategically: Identify target keywords in your product descriptions and use these words naturally. Keywords help your product rank higher in your potential customers' search queries. Example: If you sell dresses, you can use popular keywords like "women's summer dress." 🦾2. Add Original and Detailed Descriptions: Provide detailed and original descriptions about your products. Comprehensive information, including product features, materials, dimensions and usage instructions, is both valuable for users and important for search engines. Example: Add information such as color options, product care instructions or design details. 💼3. Include Customer Reviews: Customer comments and reviews should be included below your product descriptions. This helps highlight the quality and reliability of your product. Example: Include customer reviews under the headings "Our customers' opinions" or "Reviews about this product". 🪭4. Use Mobile-Friendly and Fast-Loading Pages: Make sure your website is compatible with mobile devices and has a fast-loading structure. Google considers mobile friendliness and speed as ranking factors. Example: Work with a professional web developer to ensure responsive web design and fast loading times.

I help 7-fig beauty e-com brands grow profit, reduce CAC and drive sales from organic traffic | 20+ brand launches | $26M+ in client revenue | Ecommerce Growth Partner | Founder @Bakklog
Turns out, SEO isn't just about keywords! Our team helped one of our e-commerce clients rebuild their entire website, which uses Next.js, to make a switch from the pages to the app router. The reward? A whopping 32% surge in traffic. Next.js, a React-based framework, doesn't just equip you with the tools for a highly interactive website. It also offers server-side rendering out of the box. This feature means Google's crawlers could now easily understand the content on our site, leading to a boost in our search rankings. And the benefits didn't stop there. The move to Next.js also brought: - 🚀 faster page load times - 👍 a smoother user experience. - ⏱️ shorter release cycles Paramount factors in SEO. And my team is a bit happier too as we've increased the test coverage for this client by 92%... they didn't write any tests for their application prior to working with my team... 😬 So let's go back to the result... 👀 An impressive 32% boost in traffic since the switch. Did I expect this? No. Not at all. I always knew site speed, and UX was an important factor, but upgrading frameworks to newer versions is something I usually try to postpone as they're often plagued by bugs. The Vercel team did a great job here. Anyways... I know there's a lot of people out there with old and slow websites, that might wonder what @Bakklog can do to help them... If you're stuck in the rut with traditional SEO strategies, it may be time to consider a technical upgrade. 👉 Shoot me a message and I'll have someone from my team send you a technical SEO review within 48 hours!

Shopify Store Technical SEO Tip: How to check thin content with a clever Google search. Almost 99% of Shopify stores use tags for better navigation. For Example, Let's assume You sell t-shirts with 3 size options: small, medium, and large. You'll now have tag pages automatically generated, such as: /product/t-shirt/small /product/t-shirt/medium /product/t-shirt/large It may be suitable for SEO because someone is specifically searching for a t-shirt in a small size. But it creates a problem on Shopify for two reasons. 1. If you happen to write the tag with a space, it'll change the space to a "+" (i.e., small+option) which is blocked by robots.txt by default. 2. The auto-generated tag page cannot be customized with unique H1, meta description, title tag, content, etc. Ended up creating a bunch of thin content. You can easily check if this is happening to your store with a clever Google search. 👉 site:yourwebsite.com intitle:Tagged -inurl:tagged This issue won't affect you if the search results are empty. #seo #shopifyseo #seotip P.S: Tip credit Logeix
