I would lobby authors to change publishers, or put something in their contracts that meant the publisher Had To Allow You to loan out the book. I would reach out to other publishers and explain why they lose nothing by allowing your library to loan out books. I would do research and surveys to show that people who use your service grow the reading population of the world, therefore increasing their market. I would do research to try and show that access to their books, like listening to the radio, makes people want to buy the book.

This is so bad! Can it be appealed?

Physical books banned from the shelves, digital books banned from the internet, and the rise of AI. All of this gives me the cringe and the feeling that a dystopian technofeudalist dictatorship is just around the corner.

I'd move the ones from the garage in. Seriously though, this is a worrying trend.
