The @navalwarcollegefoundation shared this. I'm thinking this might be an NROTC team.
The funny thing about military colors is the authorized dimensions.
ℹ️Army, Air Force and Space Force colors can only be 3'x4' and 4'4"x5'6". Staff length can only be 8' and 9'6". Smaller color on the shorter staff and larger on the longer. Army can mount the smaller color on both staff lengths. AF/SF can mount 3'x4' on 7' staffs only to post indoors, never any other time.
ℹ️Marine Corps, Navy, and Coast Guard use ONLY 9'6"staffs with 4'4"x5'6" colors.
ℹ️The civilian equivalent to these sizes are 3'x5' and 4'x6'. No specific staff lengths, although use of the two military lengths is usual.
Here, since these are midshipmen, they should have the above mentioned colors and staffs. But they don't. ❌They are carrying 9'6" staffs with 3'x5' colors. ❌Fringe on Nats. ❌Not at Close Interval. ❌Left elbows glued to the staffs, they should be relaxed. ❌No RWB cord on Nats. ❌No scarlet and yellow cord on the MC.
Why the wrong equipment? Because hardly anyone reads their manuals and just about everyone trusts xyzflagcompany.com. Interestingly, the flag company workers mostly don't have a clue as to the unique requirements of the military, especially if you don't tell them.
