June is a special time to celebrate and honor the LGBTQIA+ community, reflecting on the history and progress made since the Stonewall riots in June of 1969. At Hubbell, we're committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone experiences a deep sense of community and belonging. Our Hubbell Pride employee inclusion group is a testament to our dedication, welcoming all LGBTQIA+ employees and allies to foster inclusion and diversity throughout our company. This Pride Month, inclusion group members shared what Pride means to them and were inspired by the words of one Hubbell employee who shared, "I want to live in a world where people are loved and accepted for who they are. Pride is a reminder that love and acceptance are worth standing up for and inspires me to do so." #Pride #Inclusionathubbell #inclusion #hubbell

At Fortrea, we're committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. We kicked off Pride celebrations with a powerful discussion on intersectionality within the LGBTQIA+ community. Hosted by our PRIDE, PULSE, and WEN Global Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), the forum explored the often-uncomfortable topic of what it means to be both Black and LGBTQIA+. By having open and honest conversations about these experiences, we aim to: • Build understanding: We believe fostering empathy across identities strengthens our community. • Create a safer platform: When we discuss challenging topics, we can create a more inclusive space for all. • Develop strong allyship: True allyship requires understanding the unique experiences of others. We're grateful to our guest speaker, Paige J. Gardner, PhD, Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Success, College of Education at Seattle University, along with the employees who shared their lived experiences. Their stories will inspire further conversations and a more inclusive workplace for everyone. https://lnkd.in/g4Tva-4s #PrideMonth #Intersectionality #DiversityandInclusion #Fortrea

Today is day three of Construction Inclusion Week, and we are recognizing the importance of supplier diversity. Supplier diversity is a business practice that includes businesses owned by diverse individuals or groups in the procurement of goods and services. A diverse supplier business is generally defined as a business that’s at least 51% owned and operated by an individual that’s part of a traditionally underrepresented or underserved group. Common classifications are minority-owned business enterprises (MBEs), woman-owned business enterprises (WBEs), and small-business enterprises (SBEs). Businesses owned by other minority groups, such as LGBQT+, veterans, and persons with disabilities, may also be considered diverse suppliers. This video shares an example of successful Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts at one of Pepper’s projects, UI Health Specialty Care Building. #ConstructionInclusionWeek #DiversityandInclusion #InclusiveWorkplaces

It's Pride month, a time for more than just adding rainbow borders to our profiles. Let's actively support our LGBTQIA colleagues by valuing their input and treating them as equals at the table. Pride doesn't end on July 1; inclusion should be a year-round effort. Managers, focus on unbiased career development to empower all staff. True diversity means promoting those who differ from you. Measure abilities, track outcomes, and eliminate biases for a more inclusive workplace. Foster relationships built on respect and trust. Address issues proactively and model the behavior you wish to see. Together, let's create an environment where everyone can thrive. #PrideMonth #Inclusion #Diversity #Equality

Today marks the start of National Inclusion Week, which this year focuses on the theme - Take Action Make Impact! A great opportunity for us all to start thinking about what actions we can take to have a positive impact on inclusion. To celebrate, we spoke to Calumn, a Manager in our Huddersfield restaurant: “As a neurodiverse Manager, it's personally important to me that we celebrate what makes us all unique and inspire others to be involved in celebrating inclusion. As a business we have a responsibility to make sure Everyone is Welcome, to help our teams understand that inclusion isn’t a ‘one-off’ grand gesture and that we can influence and impact people every day to feel included which really ties into our ethos of the spirit of the rainbow nation. We have a couple of initiatives, one being a scheme with Kirklees College to get students with learning difficulties into the workplace. We support each student through the process and have great progress with the individuals themselves and the team! I’ve also set up a scheme with REAL Employment, who work with neurodiverse adults to try get them employment and created links with local disability champions. My restaurant is working hard to become disability confident, to be as inclusive as we can with how we think and approach people with different learning needs than our own. From these initiatives we’ve gained Nandocas (Team Members) who are brilliant at their jobs and who might have otherwise not had an opportunity. They offer us a different way of thinking and we’ve seen great progress from these Nandocas, and they love it too. Whatever amount of effort or time you put into being inclusive within the workplace, goes a long way to those who often feel marginalised or those who are otherwise overlooked. Celebrating times where we have been inclusive and looking at how we can capture and reproduce that!” You can find out more about National Inclusion Week here >> https://lnkd.in/deBDkkz #NandosLife #TakeActionMakeImpact
