A creative block can be incredibly frustrating and demoralizing. When you're on the brink of a brilliant idea but you just can't find the words for it, you can find yourself scratching your head wondering how you can put those ideas to fruition. Every creative person’s journey ebbs and flows. Creative blocks are inevitable. But sometime all we need to do is pause, take a deep breath, maybe go for a walk, eat a snack and the ideas will start flowing again. Keep believing in your creative process; every idea has the power to inspire new ideas.

When do your BEST IDEAS come to you? For me, my best ideas have come to me while I'm in the gym, out walking, or in the shower. I rarely have good ideas while I'm brainstorming, in an office, or a group setting. For creativity and inspiration seek silence, solitude and a clear mind, not pressure, noise and collaboration. I absolutely hate formalised brainstorming sessions. I’d go as far as saying that many aspects of the creative process (not just brainstorming) can be done more informally by the right practitioner. Not saying there isn’t a place for group/office sessions to kick things off but give a creative some time, silence and space to think and you’ll be surprised what they can come up with. Leave the meetings for sharing and discussing ideas rather than coming up with them.

The further I stray from conventional work practices and the pressure to conform, the more efficiently my brain works and more easily the creativity flows.
