What's on the horizon for #AVLFCC in 2024? Every year gets more exciting to work in the #hydrogen sector! Our core business continues to focus on custom fuel cell stacks for customers and partners, and we are seeing growing interest, and opportunities, in hydrogen technologies for the aviation sector. The increased availability of #greenhydrogen — driven, in part, by new funding mechanisms and incentives globally — is enabling the expansion of the hydrogen ecosystem which translates into interesting inquiries about our work and how we can support some exciting projects coming online over the next several months. Watch this space! We are currently working on the new design of our internally developed, second-generation stack platform, which addresses needs we see in the market (for example power density increase by ~50%) and will have this new stack on test by Q2. This will give us a mature starting point for customized designs, to get our customers to market faster. We are also still pushing forward with our project to have an onsite liquid hydrogen tank. With the expansion of our advanced #fuelcell research and development facility in #Burnaby over the last year, we need the capacity that liquid hydrogen can provide so we can keep up with test-program demand and support our customers. 💬 The first Hy3+ steering committee (aka Steerco) will be hosted this Thursday. The Hy3+ team is thrilled to see all of our partners and discuss our initial results. 📚Hy3+ is a study with which TNO & Arcadis provide independent advice on the priorization of the roll-out of the currently envisioned hydrogen backbones in BE, DE and NL. To understand whether the network and storage sites can facilitate the desired security of supply and security of demand, multiple supply and demand scenarios for 2030 and 2035 are translated into local, hourly supply and demand rates. This will stress-test the network, with the aim of to find critical locations and identify debottlenecking options. 🔎 The study is therefore strategically and locally supported by a PESTLE analysis to provide mitigation options. 💡During the Steerco, we will jointly evaluate the current status of the model, scenarios, and PESTLE. This will lead to discussions on topics such as "What can we learn from the Minimum Viable Product (MVP)?", "What simulations will be run for the basic scenario?", and "What is the current readiness level versus the hydrogen ambition for each country?". 📌 📊While presenting our results, we use our partners as a feedback panel and ask how they would prioritize potential scenarios. 🗣️Would you like to join this conversation and be a part of the team? Our ongoing exploration of new opportunities for collaboration, research, and development is aimed at making a meaningful impact on the global transition towards clean energy.
