Today is the moment my team and I have been working towards for almost two years. I am beyond excited to finally be able to share with you what we’ve been up to. Our amazing customers use #IBM #Db2 to run some of the most mission critical workloads on the planet. These are the world’s largest banks & financial institutions, healthcare providers and insurers, car makers and manufacturers, multi-channel retailers, government agencies with some of strictest security standards – all trust Db2 every single day to keep their businesses & institutions going. It’s safe to say that Db2 is the invisible workhorse that powers the modern economy.
Our customers count on us to continuously innovate, and enable them to accelerate their own innovation engines, like building the next generation of cutting edge cloud & #AI apps. And, those customers expect us to make it ever easier to take advantage of the decades of innovation that's built into #Db2.
Along with our colleagues at #AWS, today we’re announcing the immediate availability of #Amazon #RDS for #Db2. Read the press release: https://lnkd.in/e-hfDXAJ
This brand new offering makes it easy to run a fully-managed #Db2 database on #AWS via the #RDS platform, with one-click create, built-in compute & storage scaling, backup/restore, high availability, out-of-box security, and consumption-based pricing model. And, for our existing #Db2 customers, they can bring their existing Db2 licenses via the #BYOL program. And, we’ve released a brand new version of Db2 11.5.9 to mark this occasion.
If you’re here at #AWS #reinvent this week, stop by the #IBM or #AWS booth, register for the Amazon RDS for Db2 session (search your re:Invent catalog), or message me on LinkedIn to meet 1-1.
I can’t wait to see what our customers and partners build with #Db2 and #AWS next.
