After a lot of experimentation with #passthrough settings, and possibly the help of a new #Meta update, I've finally figured out how to successfully chroma key live in a Quest 3 headset in #UnrealEngine and #Unity! Many tests of things that only work in builds and not previews, fiddling around with all kinds of parameters around prioritization of rendering, etc., but the secret is actually (almost embarrassingly) simple, in their LUTs application workflow. For those who want to make #mixedreality experiences and are unsatisfied with the softness, low accuracy, and latency of current depth-based solutions (may be better in a few years, but right now, no thank you), have been stifled by walls around passthrough access by Meta /HTC/Apple, and don't want to spend many thousands for a Varjo headset (which can't even be wireless) this is very exciting! This may be a thing that I am the only person in the world who will be excited about?! Which is kind of fun! In any case, I'm celebrating the win, and excited about the possibilities this opens up for accessibility and creativity in live performance at the edge of new mediums.

Extended Reality Extended reality comprises all the technologies that simulate reality, from Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality to Mixed Reality and everything else in-between. It is a significant technology trend right now as all of us are craving to break away from the so-called real boundaries of the world. By creating a reality without any tangible presence, this technology is massively popular amongst gamers, medical specialists, and retail and modeling. Regarding extended reality, gaming is a crucial area for popular careers that don’t require high-level qualifications but rather a passion for online gaming. You can pursue game design, animation or even editing programs to pursue a successful career in this specialization. Connecting Talent with Medical Technology to help achieve better patient outcomes!! | 500+ Successful Placements🎉 | 20 Years Recruitment Experience🧙
Meta's Quest 3 VR headset introduces the world to 'Mixed Reality,' and this tech absolutely blows my mind 🤯 It got me thinking about remote workers! Could mixed reality be the answer to connecting those working from home with their colleagues in the office in a way that feels a little less sci-fi and weirdly more like reality? Or perhaps, we should limit this tech to gaming. Although, I must admit, I'm not sure I could sleep soundly after walking around my house with a headset on and seeing zombies appear through my walls! 😅 #tech #hiring #recruitment #talentacquisition #curetalent

AVP | Head : Business Development - Enterprise XR @ RRD | Enterprise XR Expert | Ex Tech Entrepreneur
I've always wondered why Meta hasn't released a Meta Quest OS yet. In fact, that was the question I asked Rangaprabhu Parthasarathy during the Q&A session of his keynote at Meta Day India last year. A custom OS ( for the open standards still ) built with Spatial Design and XR-specific graphics and memory handling is precisely what the industry needs. However, the decision to open it up for OEMs is a sweet surprise. I'm concerned about potential confusion among consumers when it comes to product selection. (I still receive around 10 requests a year to help someone choose the best laptop configuration for their needs.) I certainly didn't envision a world where people would switch between multiple XR glasses a day based on their use case. But perhaps this is part of a grand scheme to attract a use-case-specific user base into XR and Spatial Computing, which would outnumber hobbyist and early adopter consumer users by a significant margin. Also, 2024 has been the hottest year for XR yet. With massive updates rolling out almost on a weekly basis. I currently work for Meta on software for VR Headsets. But did you know I made 3D gaming glasses work on a Commodore 64 computer over 35 years ago? In 1989, I was 18 and in college when a friend introduced me to the Sega 3D glasses. I was so amazed by how these LCD shutter glasses worked with games that I was driven to make an electronic adapter and machine language driver software to enable them to work with a Commodore 64 home computer. I didn't do this for any company or for any school project. I did this just for fun, just to see it happen and to experience what it would look like. I was really happy with the results. I combined raster interrupts with address decoding on the expansion port to synchronously toggle both the LCD glasses and the graphics pages of the computer to show separate 320x200 pixel graphics windows on the screen to each eye. I was able to plot 3D functions, like spirals, cubes, and spheres. I was also able to simulate a 2-body gravity system in 3D, and watch the pixels orbit each other, hovering in front of my computer screen. It was the ultimate in nerdy stuff, but it worked. And what a rewarding personal accomplishment it was, combining electronic, assembly language, and product integration skills. What's really amazing is how I managed to return to this exact place from so long ago, here now at Meta (but with orders of magnitude greater technologies). Life is funny how we foreshadow our own destinies...how we make them come true just through our own excitement with experimentation into the unknown. If there is a lesson in this story, it's to follow your instincts...build what you think needs to happen for yourself, and your passion. Chances are, you're not the only one with that vision, and you may reconnect with it at an unpredictably higher level in the future...

I've been using the Meta Quest 3 for a little over two weeks since it's debut on October 10th, and its AR capabilities have been nothing short of spectacular! 👌 Previously, while working remotely, I depended on my 16-inch MacBook and a sizable secondary monitor. Shifting to a different workspace within my home was a chore because it meant lugging the additional monitor downstairs and setting everything up again – quite a hassle. But with the Quest 3, not only can I seamlessly transition between rooms, but I also have access to 5 large screens, each boasting exceptional resolution. If my partner drops by for a quick chat, if I need a caffeine refill, or if my laptop battery is dwindling down to that last 5% and needs a charge, I can handle all of these without the need to adjust or take off the headset. I'm even contemplating converting the office space into a gaming room, as I don't really need a designated office anymore. Now, any spot with a cozy seat can be my workspace. I'm eager to know what others find remarkable about AR (and VR). And if you have any questions about my journey so far, feel free to ask! 🥽 #metaquest #xrdesign #productdesign #meta #augmentedreality #vr #ar

We all frequently utilize this technology without even recognizing it. Applications for shopping that allow users to visually try things, gaming experiences, real-time viewing of static digital elements, and the viewing of 3D models are all examples of applications that use extended reality. Extended reality, or XR, combines the real and virtual worlds to create immersive experiences. The world of XR is made up of several computer-altered realities, including mixed reality, augmented reality, and virtual reality. It provides employment prospects in the emerging sectors that we have mentioned above. If anyone wants to work in this industry then here are some of the employment opportunities mentioned below: Employment Opportunities Professional gamers; game designers Software developers Front Lead Engineers Creative Directors AR/VR Support Engineers Extended Reality Architects So do you want to be a part of this and create a better future? . . . . . . #technology #developments #recentdevelopments #arvr #developmentchanges

Impactful visuals are a hallmark of meta.com. Now fully updated since Meta's re-brand, this colourful site is a lesson on how to showcase people and places with high quality images that still feel authentic. Visuals are also used to good effect on the careers site where employee-focused content presents a compelling case for jobseekers. Despite a nondescript label, the “Careers Events” video archive is an engaging resource that we don’t often see. However, a shallow and disorienting navigation structure negatively impacts journeys between the corporate and careers sites. #corporatecommunications #meta
