"Like many of you, I have a problem. I drive around with Goodwill donations sitting in my trunk for weeks and months. Sometimes I forget that they're there. Other times, I honestly don't feel like stopping to do a drop-off when visiting Goodwill: I have an irrational fear that another vintage-loving thrifter will snag the finds I want if I don't run into the store immediately upon arrival. The other day, I FINALLY drove through the Goodwill Donation Center Drop-Off to unload a bunch of home goods and realized/learned a few things that will motivate me to clear my space and the new donation storage unit, AKA my car, more often." #Goodwill #DCGoodwill #GivingTuesday #TuesdayTips #GoodwillExcelCenter #Nonprofit #Local #Trex #Sustainability #Donations #Donate #EnvironmentalSustainability #Community

After a very inspiring North Texas Giving Day, where our DAF fundholders increased the amount of their gifts by more than 300% year over year, I’ve been thinking a lot about “give-tech” as a sector. There are some really amazing ideas about how to make it easy to be generous. Two new partnerships I’m excited about: 1. Chariot - a widget that allows nonprofits to process DAF grant requests directly from their donation site. This reduces the number of steps that it takes to make a grant request, and mimics the experience of giving with your credit card. One common frustration I hear from our partner nonprofits is that they feel disconnected from our fundholders. Chariot bridges that gap and allows for easier stewardship of DJCF fundholders who want that. Our first local nonprofit partner trying this out is Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas 😉 2. DonateStock - the easy button for gifts of stock. This is one of the most attractive assets to give to charity, especially stocks with low basis. We’ve always been able to accept gifts of stock, but the team at DonateStock has made this very manual, lengthy process, a 10 minute (at most!) experience. You can try it out on our website under the “donate” tab. As I continue my quest to amplify innovation in the philanthropic sector - what are some other ideas you love?? 🤔 What does your donation actually do? When you make a $25 donation during our Annual Fund Campaign, you're making a significant impact on our member agencies. Let's hear from Hope Cares and how our Tools For Change program impacts their mission! 💙 “ToolBank has been a total game changer for us at HopeCares! We do projects for schools, nursing homes, shelters, and other nonprofits but we were limited in our scope of work until we were connected to ToolBank.” 💙 “Since that time we have increased our school projects from twice a year to monthly and we have added new resources such as construction and major landscaping.” 💙” Most recently we threw summer parties in our new gym and due to being able to borrow your lift we were able to transform our gym into a completely different space. We simply could not afford to rent such tools from other places.” 💙”𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸, 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟬 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀, 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝟳𝟱%. 𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵!” ⚒️ By donating any amount today, your dollar is automatically multiplied 33 times thanks to our 3% borrowing fee. Hope Cares can borrow 33 shovels, lawnmowers, and ladders for the exact cost as purchasing just one tool. . . . Jacob Pruitt, President, Fidelity Charitable® states "My message to the Black community: Don’t wait to start giving smarter. It’s important to begin creating a philanthropic legacy now, making it part of your overall wealth-building goals, such as establishing a reserve for college expenses, saving for retirement, or planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip." Here are a few ways to get started: Start with your family. Develop a family charitable mission statement, volunteer together, talk with your children about causes they care about, and provide them a giving budget. Identify and adopt tax-smart giving methods. If you work with a financial advisor, ask about tax-smart strategies for giving. Consider opening a DAF and donating appreciated assets. By donating appreciated stock that you’ve held for a year or more, you can minimize capital gains taxes and maximize support for charities. Offer your time and talent. Organizations need your voice and engagement. You have much to offer, regardless of your current giving level. Your expertise and involvement can shape organizations and communities for the better. #fidelity #savoy

I'm considering using StockDonator.com as a means for our small nonprofit Third Coast Chamber Collective to accept gifts of stock from donors. The reviews on Trustpilot are excellent. If you have used StockDonator.com, what has been your experience? (Please provide some context, such as your role in the org, the size of the nonprofit, etc.
