Just finished the feature I wanted to do most on https://lnkd.in/d79xAug2: now along with engines, the site is also listing open-source games for each engine! This was a really important feature to me because most of the time, when you are exploring a new engine, you want a project reference to have an easier time figuring out: - how to organize your assets - how to use the engine tools - how to code in the editor specific scripting language Among a log of other things. And this kind of stuff is MUCH easier when you have open-source games to check and see how they work. Now onto the drawing board for the next feature! #gamedev

Put on your “Thinking Caps!” My new book, Games We Played as Children, is a collection of games we played and a treasure trove of memories, laughter, and lessons learned under the open sky. Games We Played as Children, is a testament to the timeless charm of childhood games passed down through generations yet have somehow lost their way in the maze of modern technology. Please tell me about your favorite children’s game and why you enjoyed it. If your story is intriguing and fun, it might find a spot in Games We Played as Children, to be published in 2025! Make sure you include your name, the game, and some entertaining narrative about your game (no more than 300 words) to Jim@jamesrgregory-books.com. If you want to receive periodic updates about my upcoming books, please click on this link, fill in the information, and hit subscribe: http://eepurl.com/iFkO1A.

Copies, often of poor-quality, are sold online, sometimes even of unpublished games. Publishers suffering from such infringements often receive little support from e‑commerce platforms. Strategist & trainer | Helping specialists use storytelling to communicate; without sounding simplistic or distorting facts
When someone invites you to board games: - some spark your interest in under 2 minutes - others overwhelm you with rules, making you want to run away. If you are overwhelmed with rules and details - you'll never want to play that board game. Knowing how to structure logically technical information has the same effect. We want to engage someone to keep listening to us and play. Not scare them. Once they've played, they'll want to know the obscure rules that make you an even better player. Don't overwhelm others with technical information - turn it into a factual story first; let them develop interest. Make them care.

What is meta-horror? - Pilot episode in the Flat Reality Include section! This is our first installment of the FR Include column, where we talk about underrepresented topics in the world of indie games. Today the genre of Meta-horror is on the agenda. We are developing our game The Nick in this genre, so we know exactly what to say! The author will be game designer of the video game Andrey Puchkov. After reading, write what you think about the format and the article in principle - it will be very useful so that we understand whether to continue or not 🙏🏻 Read the article: https://vk.cc/cul912
