#INSTANTTURNON : HOW TO STAND OUT… If you are asked to introduce yourself at a networking event, a meeting, or at a Conference, it is probably in your best interest to stand out like the expert you are. How do you make people remember you, and want to to come and speak to you at the break? By introducing yourself DIFFERENTLY to the others. The majority of people begin by saying “Good morning/afternoon/evening/hello”. You have been there for an hour already! No sense in saying “good morning, …whatever “ at this point. So DON’T begin with a greeting. Then the majority of people will say “My name is X. I am a Y. and my office is in Z”. DON’T say that. Instead, stand out by saying something different. For example: “I know the majority of people here need legal advice they can rely on. A qualified legal expert in their own professional field. I know that many of you would sleep better at night if they knew that all their legal issues could be solved quickly and easily. My name is X, and as a company lawyer with 25 years experience, I am someone you and your company would probably like to meet…..” That’s your HOOK! It will get people’s attention and make you stand out from all the others.
