Having an efficient heating and cooling system in Manitoba’s varying climate is important and knowing your options is key to making the best decision for your home. So what's the difference between air source and ground source heat pumps? Air source heat pumps circulate refrigerant which absorbs and releases heat. These heat pumps can reduce your electric heating costs by up to 30% and are easy to retrofit with your existing infrastructure. Ground source heat pumps circulate fluid through a network of underground pipes pushing heat into or out of your home. They’re a great option for large properties and open spaces and can reduce electric heating costs by up to 60%. Check out the full article to find out which heat pump is right for you: https://lnkd.in/dmwmQksX #energy #efficiency #energyefficiency #EfficiencyManitoba #saveenergy #savemoney #savetheenvironment #Manitoba #rebates #efficiencyMB #energyefficiencymanitoba

One of the primary reasons to conduct blower door testing is to enhance a building’s energy efficiency. By identifying and sealing leaks in the building envelope, homeowners can prevent conditioned air from escaping and unconditioned air from entering. This reduces the workload on heating and cooling systems, leading to significant energy savings. https://calcwizards.com/ #CalcWizards #EnergyCalculation #EnergyEfficiency

Heat pumps are key to decarbonizing home heating, the average home’s biggest energy hog. They double as air conditioners and can both clean up indoor air quality and lower energy bills. But ripping out an existing heating system and replacing it with a full-size heat pump might not be doable in a multifamily building with central heat, so what options are available to renters who want to heat their homes without fossil fuels? Enter "micro" heat pumps. They’re not as powerful or efficient as whole-home heat pumps, but they’re portable, plug into a standard 120-volt outlet (no electrical upgrades required), and are a fraction of the cost. You may even have seen one without realizing its potential; they’ve historically been marketed as portable air conditioners, with heating as an afterthought. Renters, you too can get a heat pump — a micro one, at least
