A lesson for governments everywhere. The first part of the article shows how impact of increased red and green tape and badly organized bureaucracies have rendered it close to impossible to build any sizeable project in some jurisdictions of the USA. The last part of the article demonstrates solutions to cost over-runs, time delays and NIMBY/BANANA issues. Politics seems to be a large part of the problem. I recall how quickly things get built in Texas and Montana. Modularization seems to be one of the key lessons. Being overly scared of one's population at the expense of being unable to get necessary works done is another. Every nation and state could benefit from the lessons of this article. https://lnkd.in/gRrjNugD

Registration is OPEN: All Ohio Future Fund All Ohio Future Fund (AOFF) with a historic $750 million investment to support local communities with site-readiness and preparation to attract economic development projects. Awardees will be expected to find site occupants within five years. Eligible costs include infrastructure costs such as public roadwork, water/wastewater and related infrastructure, design and engineering, demolition, wetland mitigation, utility-gap funding, and other one-time site enhancements. Funding cannot be used for land/site acquisition.
