Outstanding Women in Leadership The American Psychological Association, 2023, shares with us that, "When women are empowered to lead, everyone benefits. Decades of studies have shown that women leaders help increase productivity, enhance collaboration, inspire organizational dedication, and improve fairness." Unfortunately, the fact remains that despite this, just under 11% of Fortune 500 companies are led by women. CBHA is proud to share that we see women. We recognize women for their strength, steadfastness, and individuality. Their commitment to work, creativity, innovation, family, and fairness. We honor and admire women who inspire us through transformational leadership. Today, the RESJ Committee is proud to recognize 7 Outstanding Women in Leadership, who embody all the traits mentioned above. Back in March, we asked each woman to share with us a few words about what Women's History Month meant to them as well as which women in their lives have influenced them. It is important that we see and recognize women each and every day, not just during a particular month. Please help us uplift and honor these incredible leaders, as we think about all that has been accomplished by women, and all that is yet to be accomplished. How do combined ratios relate to the celebration of the personal and professional achievements and the societal and cultural contributions of women across the world? That is the very question our Founder, Ngozi Nnaji, asked the audience as she presented to the members of Elephant Insurance's Employee Resource Group, #ROSIE, and its allies, during their Women's History Month SymROSIEum last week. The answer? By using the same same strategies to manage the risk of others to ensure a combined ratio under 100% and establish #PROFITABILITY, we as female insurance professionals can also manage our own risk, our "self-care" ratio. 1. Aligning our outputs with our inputs. Making sure the losses we pay (our outputs - physical health, mental well-being, and overall happiness) get "replenished" with the premiums we receive (our inputs - time, effort and energy). 2. Understanding our boundaries. Just as insurers must manage claims to maintain profitability, we as women must set boundaries to protect our physical and emotional health. Saying no is akin to managing claims to keep the loss ratio in check. 3. Efficient resource allocation. The expense ratio in insurance reflects the efficiency of resource allocation. Self-care involves allocating resources effectively to activities and practices that promote well-being. Ladies, as you celebrate Women's History Month, ask yourself.....Are you profitable?? #WHM #insuranceprofessionals #Womenadvocatingforwomen #insuranceindustry #insurance #akoinsuranceconsulting
Last week, ROSIE hosted a SymROSIEum with Ngozi Nnaji. Nnaji is an Insurance Consultant and Independent Agency Founder of AKO Brokerage Services. The brokerage specializes in working with minority-owned businesses and their owners to help them understand the importance of using insurance to shield their assets. She encouraged us to consider whether we feel profitable on a personal level- are we giving out more than we are bringing in ⚖️? She creatively used Combined Ratio as a metaphor for how we approach our own personal and professional lives. We enjoyed this thought-provoking discussion, thank you Ngozi for spending your time with the Herd 🐘! ROSIE stands for Reaching Out to Support, Inspire, and Empower. Their primary focus is aimed at encouraging women to apply for roles in leadership and supporting current female leaders. If you'd like to read more about ROSIE, or our other Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), you can do so at https://lnkd.in/e7ZtkMAC

Award-Winning Global Public Speaker on Women’s Leadership & Inclusive Leadership • Dutch Social & Econ. Council TopWoman • in Forbes • Univ. Lecturer • Top 50 Influential Muslims Europe • TEDx • IG 67k
❗ ❗ My TEDX talk is out. I feared that it might not be published or could be removed, but here it is. In today's world, attempts to address the unfair treatment of Muslims are often labeled as harmful. Ironically, what's truly harmful is the unfair representation of Muslims in the media, perpetuating stereotypes that lead to a lot of pain and suffering—the effects of this we can see unfolding in our world today… 🌍 Media portrayals of hijab-wearing women often display us as helpless or oppressed, which shapes societal perceptions. It's essential to challenge these narratives because let me tell you, I know countless hijab-wearing women who are influential leaders and highly educated. 👀 In my talk, I discuss the biases, sometimes subtle and sometimes not, affecting how people perceive and interact with me. From being underestimated or people feeling uncomfortable around me because they think I judge them to facing outright aggression… 🚀 Despite these challenges, I choose to wear the hijab proudly. It's a symbol of my personal freedom, a choice to focus on my message rather than appearance. 🙌 Grateful for the platform to share my story and hopeful that it sparks conversations to challenge stereotypes and promote inclusivity. I could not have done it without the best TEDxAmsterdamWomen coach, Barbara Rogoski, support system Karen Oldhoven, best friends Faisa Awad and Somya Bouzaggou, and the crazy guy in the streets (who knew our encounter would end up on TEDx, right? XO). https://lnkd.in/dBVSeaNk #TEDxTalk #InclusiveLeadership #WomenEmpowerment #BreakingStereotypes #FemaleLeadership
