How do you break the generational cycle of poverty? Two primary ways are through home ownership and education. Gianna House is an organization that not only provides housing to at-risk pregnant women, mothers, and babies who are homeless, but we also place them on the path of attaining their educational goals so that they can be more of an asset to themselves, their children, and to the community. On this GIVING TUESDAY, we give our commitment to continue to help young pregnant women become healthy and productive members of society by providing a safe home, life skills, parenting classes, and educational resources and training. Will you commit to helping by donating TODAY? Your donation could save the lives of many! Board of Director Chairperson "CLCL Foundation" -- Choose love. Celebrate life. A Foundation for Youth & Families, Inc.
I am asking for your help, please. 339 days... (#AndCounting) without Safe harbor for youth. This further hurts the most vulnerable demographics (impoverished, traumatized, mentally unwell, women/girls, people of color, LGBT and gender-nonconforming, disabled, mentally unwell, orphaned, throwaways...) It denies them basic needs, #mentalhealth services, and the opportunity to change the #trajectory of their lives. When I ran at 17, the #shelter provided more than a roof, bed, and food. It encouraged self-reflection, held me accountable for growth, and never stopped being available. Any former client could visit, and then did! They came to talk to staff (which I was 3 times), reminisce, share good news or bad, seek advice, guidance, resources... Because most of the youth had no parent or adult in their lives to guide them or for them to show off to and boast about accomplishments otherwise unseen and uncelebrated. It leaves little room to develop pride, self-esteem and -confidence. They came back when they needed to go #Home. The help never ended. Because help is always there, when we look for it, when we actively seek it out. I am asking for #YOURHELP NOW: For your time, your money, your involvement as CLCL Foundation seeks to expand the movement to #ENDYouthHomelessness with innovative ideas, community-based approaches, trauma-informed services, that are inclusive and accessible to all in need. Because this problem is not unique to Ocean and Monmouth Counties, #NJ. It is a #NationalCrisis, an #Epidemic, and our actions CAN BE the remedy. If we act together -- WE could #ChangetheWorld. CLCL Foundation seeks to provide these innovative solution-based services. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Choose love. Celebrate life. seeks to be A Foundation for Youth and Families, both now and in the future. JOIN US! DONATE TODAY at https://clclfoundation.org **Board Positions Currently Available! NTDs can have a devastating impact on families. Illness, disability and social stigma can lead to job loss for a parent. This can have major financial consequences and may keep a family trapped in poverty. If a child has an NTD, they might miss school due to their illness. Sometimes children stop attending school to focus on caring for a family member affected by an NTD. This can reduce employment options or other opportunities for that child in the future. In many places, when someone finds out they have an NTD, it is not unusual for their spouse to leave them. Often women who have NTDs are abandoned along with their children. Due to their illness and limited employment opportunities, they might struggle to care for their children and themselves. However, many of these situations are preventable, or can be greatly improved, through early treatment, awareness, and support. Your donation helps people affected by NTDs in hard-to-reach areas access healthcare and community support. This means more families can stay together, children can stay in school, and cycles of poverty can be ended. Helping the homeless Supporting people in need during the Christmas period This winter, over 131,000 children will spend Christmas without a place to call home. Lily, a mum of two from Bristol, knows only too well how that feels. A qualified nurse, she and her family were served a Section 21 ‘no fault’ eviction, and given just two months to find a new home after their landlord decided to sell. Unable to find a property to rent, she and her children spent months being moved from one B&B to another. None of them had a kitchen in which Lily could cook for her family, and many were miles from the children’s schools. This is not a home, but it’s the reality for thousands of families in emergency temporary accommodation. Shelter research has found that being placed in temporary accommodation (TA) disrupts every aspect of family life, with 47% of families with school-aged children being forced to move schools as a result of living in TA. To find out more about how you can help, turn to page 18 of the latest Winter edition. #educationchoicesmagazine #educationcornerpodcast #educationmatters #helpingthehomeless #awareness #support #donate #heplingothers #homelessnessawareness #diversity #inclusion

Did you know that 37% of all Australians experiencing homelessness are under the age of 25? That's a staggering figure - over 46,000 children and young people who are unable to live at home, facing incredible challenges. The leading causes of youth homelessness, such as housing crises, family violence, family separation, and breakdowns, are issues that we can address together. Many young individuals are left with no choice but to couch-surf, live temporarily with other households, and some even endure the harsh realities of life on the streets. I firmly believe that every child deserves a chance, and this is why I'm taking part in the 2023 Sleep Under the Stars event. Our mission is to raise $1.2 million for Stepping Stone House. This funding will enable them to provide accommodation and support for 48 at-risk youths for an entire year, giving them a much-needed opportunity to succeed in life. I encourage you to join me by registering and fundraising yourself, or if you are unable to participate, consider making a donation. Your support can truly make a significant impact on someone's life. On Friday, October 27, I will be sleeping out at Cockatoo Island in Sydney with my Trend Micro AMEA Team, standing in solidarity with the 45,862 young Australians experiencing homelessness. Together, we can be the guiding stars that provide a safe home for disadvantaged young people. Please make a donation to my fundraising page, and let's work together to light a path out of homelessness. #YouthEmpowerment #HomelessnessAwareness #SteppingStoneHouse #SleepUnderTheStars https://lnkd.in/g4eNqw-g

This #GiveBIG we ask that you join us to support kids and their families healing from domestic violence (DV) at Broadview. Research shows that traumatic experiences in childhood – like DV – can affect health and economic outcomes for life. The good news is that studies also show that children who participate in positive youth development programs are less likely to experience poverty as adults. That's why the incredible staff at our Broadview Shelter & Transitional Housing work one-on-one with kids to build on their strengths and support families on their path toward stability: all while using fun and play. Together, we can disrupt generational cycles by investing in today's youth at Broadview. Make a one-time donation ⭐ https://lnkd.in/gMpUtPJN
