We have empowered over 2000 companies into change-makers, allowing them to communicate their story of solutions about global issues to audiences who follow the G7, G20, B20, W20, APEC, and COP 27 communities.
In the dazzling world of couture, it's much more than just the clothes. The latest spectacle came complete with stunning dresses, secret kisses, and enthusiastic fan girls, marking some of the best celebrity moments in recent memory. •Front-row seats were occupied with A-listers bedecked in otherworldly ensembles and high-end couture, their expressions were a mix of admiration and awe at their counterparts and the bejeweled gowns being paraded runway. The runway not only glittered with craftsmanship but also radiated star power. •As observers, we didn't just relish in breathtaking gowns but also scrutinized for any traces of romance in the air. The tucked-away kisses under the glaring lights were the perfect dash of romance the couture world has been needing. •The interactions and camaraderie between models and the audience spoke volumes of the unity in the industry - further fueled by isolated incidents of fan-girl moments, which managed to rake up few of the notable highlights of the event. The eclectic mix of tender moments, celebrity interactions, and fashion genius at this event was, in one word, mesmerizing. Casting a prophecy over what the future holds for such elite fashion extravaganzas, I predict we will continue to see: - A surge in celebrities swapped for models on the runway. - An increase in subtle romantic instances which aren't merely missed winks or air kisses. - A rise in celebrities unabashedly being their 'fangirl' selves at shows, humanizing them a tad bit for us normal folks . Long courtyard trains, lofty headverges, and embroidered silhouettes aren't the only things stealing the show. It appears as if the celebrities too are using these fashion platforms to candidly, yet calculatedly, bare their true selves - a trend that all of us will eagerly continue devouring. #fashionIndustry #coutureEvents #celebrityMoments #trendPredictions

Fashion project developer/Leathergoods luxury industry passionate/ Looking to link travel, experience, creative development and sales
Ego and Fashion 💥 John Galliano closed Paris Haute Couture week with the presentation of Maison Margiela, and the reaction has been unanimous toward sublime work. Due to circumstances that you surely know (he was swiftly expelled as creative director of Christian Dior Couture for anti-Semitic remarks in a Paris bar), the man who represented the changing era in haute couture houses fell into obscurity. After rehabilitation from various addictions, he returned as creative director for Margiela. Galliano became a rockstar designer with orchestrated appearances at the end of each show. This was at the beginning of the millennium when the minimalist proposals of the '90s were fading away, and the world seemed to live in an eternal party that ended when someone decided to turn on the lights, and we all woke up in 2008 with a monumental crisis. The star began to fade, and undoubtedly, the ever-increasing demands of the industry probably finished the job. In 2024, as if it were a twist of fate, Galliano presents his best collection at the helm of Margiela (the house of anti-ego in fashion par excellence). The once-star embraces anonymity and lets the work speak for itself, as if it were an exercise in self-analysis. There are several things that link Galliano to another great talent, Rick Owens. Both question the role of normative beauty, and both go against the current in the world of luxury that tends to unify and eliminate dissent. #fashion #fashionindustry #luxury #luxuryfashion #rickowens #margiela #maisonmargiela #galliano #johngalliano

Since the 19th century, haute couture has been bringing together both ancient craftsmanship and the evolving needs of clients, as social backdrops shift and change, aiming to provide a rarefied elegance for the happy few who can afford it. In the wake of last week's Haute Couture Fashion Week and in the midst of the decisive French elections, a general sense of unrest is palpable in the country. Even though politics have been increasingly present on the ready-to-wear runways, the couture collections reflect focus back on the garments, offering quiet excellence for some, and a — much-needed — space for fantasy for others. https://cnn.it/45NuXOs

Great piece in The Business of Fashion by Ming Liu on the resurgence of #pearls in fine #jewelery (and RTW). This trend is something I've been monitoring for some time. Over the past decade, newfound creativity centered around pearls, combined with celebrity endorsements and trade association efforts, has helped pearls reclaim their spotlight in both high and fine jewelry. Ever since Rihanna graced the 2018 Met Gala red carpet adorned in pearls from head to toe, the love affair with pearls has accelerated for both women and men. Ming discusses the growth in pearls for men extensively in this article. As an Australian, I might be partial, but companies such as Paspaley, which is at the forefront of pearling high-quality cultured Australian South Sea (and mother of pearl shell), are quietly contributing to this sector's growth. Like many other global #Luxury companies, Paspaley is a family-owned and operated company with a strong heritage spanning over 80 years and three generations. In recent years, jewelry makers have showcased a diverse array of designs and pearls. However, this is more than just a trend. The creativity and unique craftsmanship in design, coupled with the fact that pearls are more natural and #sustainable, will underscore their enduring appeal.

Color-Blocking 101. Couture runways aren’t the only places where color-blocking occurs—it happens, too, in new jewelry collections and is an important concept for jewelers to understand. Color-blocking pairs opposite colors together for fashion victories (think Mondrian and Stephen Burrows). Fine jewelers need the savvy to confidently suggest colored gemstone and enamel jewels to clients who enter stores in the season’s latest hues. So, when merchants are facing shoppers in Peach Fuzz–color T-shirts, he or she can quickly offer complementary champagne diamonds or, on the other end of the spectrum, minty-green garnets or chrysoprase for an über Miami Vice vibe. LALI Jewels This is valuable information, maintains Monica McDaniel, vice president, Chatham, Inc. “Anytime jewelry and fashion intersect, you find the ultimate self-expression,” she notes. “Retailers need to understand trends and how to use color in their conversations with the client. Guiding and offering up suggestions sets you apart from other jewelers.” It’s also meaningful because “it creates an organized shopping experience for the customer,” observes Perilynn Glasner, marketing and design director for Lali Jewelry. During in-store events, her sales teams use color-blocking techniques to showcase collections effectively. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐉𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐫𝐲 ⏩ 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞, 𝐃𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: https://lnkd.in/dtStfArb Modern costume jewelry plays a crucial role in fashion by providing designers and consumers with a means to experiment with styles, colors, and materials. Its affordability allows fashion enthusiasts to stay up-to-date with current trends without a significant financial investment. This democratization of fashion means that bold, eye-catching pieces can be worn by anyone, making high-fashion looks accessible to the masses. Designers often use costume jewelry to complement their runway collections, adding dramatic flair and completing the overall aesthetic. Moreover, costume jewelry's influence extends beyond its economic appeal. It serves as a canvas for artistic expression, showcasing intricate designs, unconventional materials, and innovative techniques. From statement necklaces and oversized earrings to elaborate brooches and cocktail rings, costume jewelry pieces often become the focal point of an outfit. This trend towards maximalism in accessories allows individuals to express their personality and style more vividly, making costume jewelry an essential component of contemporary fashion. Sustainability is another aspect where costume jewelry is making an impact. With increasing awareness about environmental issues, many brands are focusing on eco-friendly materials and ethical production practices. Recycled metals, sustainable stones, and environmentally conscious manufacturing processes are becoming more prevalent in the costume jewelry industry. This shift not only caters to the growing demand for sustainable fashion but also highlights the industry's adaptability and commitment to positive change. costume jewelry has transcended its original purpose as mere imitation of fine jewelry to become a powerful fashion accessory in its own right. Its ability to adapt to trends, provide a platform for artistic expression, and embrace sustainability ensures its continued relevance in the fashion world. As trends evolve and the fashion industry becomes more inclusive and eco-conscious, costume jewelry will undoubtedly remain a beloved and integral part of personal style and self-expression. #costumejewelry #fashionjewelry #vintagejewelry #jewelryindustry #fashion

Most of us got into fashion because of creativity. We've seen McQueen's shows, Galliano's drama, Chalayan's conceptualism. We had Vivien Westwood and Marc Jacobs' Louis Vuitton era. Even David Koma was doing structural coctail dresses and Mary Katrantzou had chandelier skirts you couldn't sit in. But as a fashion student, you get to uni and people start asking you questions like: who is your customer, who will buy this and your teachers tell you things like: design more dresses and coats, because they sell. So it kind of starts dawning on you that this is a product and it needs to have "some" functionality. Then luxury decided to tap into wider customer base and started offering "cheaper" products like t-shirts and sweatshirts to the masses, so they too can say they own branded stuff. Virgil introduced streetwear to the top of the fashion pyramid, although Jacobs already had his Grunge collection in the 80s, it just wasn't the right time. This opened the way for Off White, Vetements and catapulted Demna to the top spot. So now, the Margiela couture show hits right into our hearts, because this is a lost era, a glimse of the glorious past, while we continue woking in an industry that is so confused and polarized. Creativity, my friends, can be harnessed to really change this industry, but sometimes fashion can just be art. This is one of those times. #margiela #couture #couturefashion #galliano #fashion #fashionindustry https://lnkd.in/d8cQ5kpz
