I learned an incredibly important lesson from Ira Zlotowitz back when I worked for him. The lesson was that everyone thinks they’re walking the center line. And everyone else is a bit to the right or a bit to the left. In other words, I’m the only normal one and everyone else is crazy. Instead, see yourself as someone on the side of the road. And the people you want to serve are in the middle. And your job is to see them where they’re at and help them there. Not to move them over to YOUR middle.
