Thrilled to share that I've just wrapped up an enriching Live project at FinLatics, diving deep into the dynamic world of Investment Banking, particularly focusing on Equity Funds and Private Equity Investing! Throughout this journey, I've had the incredible opportunity to delve into the intricate stages of private equity investing from the lens of an equity fund. Understanding the nuances of each stage has been both enlightening and invaluable. One of the highlights of my experience was actively participating in the set-up of a Private Equity Fund at FinLatics. From the initial investor onboarding process to navigating through investing cycles, every step has been meticulously crafted to ensure a seamless and successful journey for all stakeholders involved. Emphasizing on the importance of investor onboarding, we strived to create a welcoming and transparent environment, fostering trust and confidence among our esteemed investors. Moreover, navigating through various investing cycles enabled us to adapt to market dynamics and make informed decisions that align with our investment objectives. Furthermore, exploring sectoral orientation within the Private Equity landscape has been fascinating. Identifying key sectors and understanding their growth trajectories has been instrumental in shaping our investment strategies and maximizing returns for our investors. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a dynamic and forward-thinking team at FinLatics. lliquids look great until you can't get your money back. Today's installment highlights just how low VC distributions have been recently - near financial crisis lows for the last couple quarters. At this point many allocators are stuck in these funds and given previous commitments are being forced to continue to add capital through new capital calls. That is forcing higher allocations just at the time when the illiquidity highlights significant risks of VC ahead. For the venture funds, this also creates significant problems as well. Limited distributions delay the clock on the ability to raise new funds because funds typically need to realize at least some outcomes on previous funds before gathering more assets. In addition the delay is lengthening the time to distribution significantly weighing on the IRR of current funds. https://lnkd.in/gWeAbeUT
