We congratulate Petra Ehmann, Chief Innovation and AI Officer at Ringier, on her #nomination as a member of the WEF's "Class of Young Global Leaders 2024". At the #AnnualMeeting23, Petra Ehmann spoke about why Europeans find it so difficult to commercialize their #innovations. Many of the foundations for technological achievements come from Europe: the basis for Google Maps originated in Lucerne, #vps (visual positioning system) was developed at the ETH in Zurich and #MP3 format was invented in Germany for instance. However, others earn the money. Why? In Europe, it's much more about minimising risk, while other countries strive to maximise value. "And inexperience helps us to reinvent ourselves," says Ehmann. So, while European companies focus on security and use experts to build a company, Ehmann advocates hiring the best #talent: "Hiring for the #mindset, for skills second". The NASSCOM GCC Conclave 2024 was an enlightening 2-day event that delved into the role of #GCCs in driving innovation and shaping the future of business. Two key themes that emerged significantly for me were: 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐈: 𝐀𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭 GenAI took center stage, with multiple sessions exploring its potential to revolutionize GCCs. “Fail Fast” seems to be the mantra.
