Some weeks ago, not long before my transition to COO of Prepare 4 VC, we completed a rebrand that has been the case in practice and intention for several long months. Like the startups we serve, P4VC is subject to the same forces of change and must forever be mindful of the very same factors that affect the entire startup ecosystem.
That being said, like the great ships of immortal fame -- USS Constitution, USS Constellation, HMS Victory, HMS Endeavour, and others --- OASIS, that symbol of who we are and what we do and why, is a resilient and enduring thing. A thing I deeply love, more than any other career or operation I've cared for besides the years I spent in patient advocacy for my mother.
As the team and I have joked, I am very often the first to admit fault and the last to claim credit (due to limiting beliefs I'm sure), but the one exception to this is OASIS. That culmination of the will, the work, and the effects of Prepare 4 VC's contribution to early stage startup success and even later stage companies as well. Our partnerships. Our consistent legacy of cross-collaboration and wider ecosystem support. It is a beautiful, thrilling story -- and something I will proudly boast of.
Yet Prepare 4 VC and OASIS was lonely for a long while in a way, until Boston New Technology became part of the voyage. Now OASIS and "ORACLE" (a similar symbolic reference to everything BNT is known for ) are the best of friends, sailing beside together nice and smooth.
This yarn ends with a bit of advice:
If you can do what you love, please do --- and do it knowing it is a big risk and you will probably fail, a lot. If you can bear it, keep going, and understand that you're not alone.

💡Three key takeaways from this year‘s HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds family days
I‘m beyond grateful that True Growth Capital has sent me over to the conference this year to meet startup founders, fellow investors, and ecosystem friends. Within two days, I‘ve managed to listen to >100 startup pitches, talk to 13 inspiring individuals, listen to powerful keynotes of Verena Pausder, Robert Habeck, Dr. Tanja Emmerling, Susan Blanco, Daniel Gutenberg, among others, and connect with fellows along the way. Many amazing insights and input within a short amount of time. Here‘s what I‘m taking away…
1️⃣ Germany is an innovative engine: we have a powerful pipeline of startups in place that will tackle the most severe problems of today and tomorrow.
2️⃣ In-person networking remains king: nothing beats meeting fellow ecosystem partners, investors, and founders along as you stroll through the halls and grab a coffee.
3️⃣ Investments need to become bold and audacious: Europe still invests comparably conversatively and riskaverse than the US does. If we want to stay ahead, we must become more brave in investing into ventures tackling severe future problems before the problems face a mainstream.
