Move has recently completed some simulations of the energy and emissions performance of our electric drive trailer as part of a roughly 200 tonne quad combination truck. We're seeing the ability to reduce energy consumption by up to 46% and an emissions reduction of up to 53% dependent on the electricity cost and the electricity greenhouse gas coefficient. What's better again is that we are prime mover agnostic, it works standalone with any prime mover type, diesel, EV, hydrogen, and it can augment the GCM capability and the range for an EV. "EV Battery Factory Will Require So Much Energy It Needs A Coal Plant To Power It" - What a clickbaity headline 🙄 A new EV battery factory in Kansas is using so much energy that the retirement of a coal plant has been delayed to keep up with the demand. A $4 billion investment by Panasonic, the factory is a part of the push to ramp up battery production in North America, but it is hard to ignore the massive energy needs of certain types of manufacturing. The factory will require between 200 and 250 megawatts of electricity to operate - that's roughly the energy needed for a small city! As more factories are built in the U.S. to supply EV manufacturers, demand for power is going to be driven up even faster. We are going to be in for a wild ride over the next few decades when it comes to energy demand. https://lnkd.in/g5RHtXvu
