Finland's VTT TECHNICAL RESEARCH CENTRE OF FINLAND develops Cellulose-Based Film for Eco-Friendly Packaging The Finnish VTT Technical Research Centre has developed a cellulose-based film that is safe for the environment. VTT project manager and senior scientist Dr. Vinay Kumar gives information on the new material and how it can replace plastic film. When compared to materials derived from fossil fuels, the production of cellulose-based materials leaves a less carbon imprint. 🇩🇪 We already informed you about the updated version of the German minimum standard for the assessment of recyclability of packaging according to the German Packaging Act. ❗️ One major change that was contained in the draft of the consultation procedure was not included in the final version: A restructuring of Annex 1 was planned, which depicts the existence of a sorting and recycling infrastructure for different types of packaging, as well as the need for individual evidence of high-quality mechanical recycling.
