#Montenegro’s economy is overly reliant on #tourism and foreign-born workers. Home to just over 600,000 people, stunning mountains, and perhaps the most beautiful stretch of #Adriatic coastline, Montenegro’s days of obscurity are over. Now connected to the rest of Europe by budget airlines via its capital of Podgorica, tourism in Montenegro is expected to fully rebound to pre-pandemic levels this year. The strength of its tourism industry—boosted by the arrival of Ukrainian and Russian citizens feeling war and conscription—and 516 million EUR of foreign direct investment (FDI) just between January and July of this year significantly contributed to the country’s resilience in the face of high inflation. https://hubs.la/Q027rRZd0

Rethink tourism. The discontent and sadness of the local population are a direct and critical response to irresponsible political management and a crisis of representation that traps Aruba in a vicious triangle where foreign investors and cheap foreign labor impoverish and outrage the existence of the local population. Here are the three sides of a probably unstoppable triangle. https://lnkd.in/dhaPRNtK

There were 103 country markets served from the US this July, just one fewer than in 2019, which is Ukraine. Many of these markets are well on the way to recovery, if not already recovered. So, where are American travelers going this summer? Are there any new areas of opportunity opening up and where is there still progress to be made? #USAviation #TravelAndTourism #Travel https://hubs.li/Q01-1Ccf0

🙃China and Thailand disappear in attractiveness post-Covid. Needless to say, a lot has changed in the industry since the pre-pandemic year of 2019, incl. which countries have been able to attract the most tourists. As Statista’s chart shows… where France, Spain and the United States have managed to retain their places as the top three travel destinations worldwide, China and Thailand have disappeared from the roundup, so that all top ten ranks are now taken by countries in Europe and Americas. Tops 🇫🇷🇪🇸🇺🇸 IN 🌏🌍🌎 #inbound #tourism #postpandemic 🤔 Meanwhile the trajectory for British attractiveness based on countries who would cut ties with Britain if a referendum was called tomorrow is striking given Brexit🏝️self-inflicted wound & the increasing unpalatable role models of the monarchy in C21st. #Jamaica may be the next country to sever ties with the British monarchy, with a referendum in the island nation on whether to remove King Charles as their head of state set for 2024. It’s not the only one considering leaving the monarchy behind. According to media reports, government officials in #Belize, the #Bahamas, #Grenada, #Antigua and #Barbuda, and #StKittsandNevis have all signaled that they want to become republics in the near future too. While on the other side of the world, there have been calls in #Australia to become fully independent of Britain. https://lnkd.in/dktTwvjj. So Britain’s brand is suffering internally and externally which is not sustainable for a once open welcoming tourist destination either 🇬🇧 #democracy #generalelection

Delighted to share that China ranked as New Zealand's third largest source of overseas visitors in February 2024, following Australia and the United States. Reflecting on this achievement, I'm optimistic about the future growth of Chinese tourism to NZ, especially during off-peak seasons. These rising numbers highlight the deepening cultural and economic ties between New Zealand and China. Let's nurture this positive trend by welcoming more Chinese travelers. 🧳 #TourismGrowth #NZChinaRelations #TourismTrends #Chinesetourists
