We often forget that EU was first of all a peace project and an economic one as a second objective. From this perspective it is an absolute success – the longest peace time in Europe’s recorded history with the benefits of economic prosperity and institutions building. It is good to remind people of the world before the EU (and UN for that matter) – several major empires (small counties - either non-existed or puppet states) that clashed in WW1 and WW2 with a total death estimated at 65 to 90 million people worldwide in time when world population was about 30% of today’s population.

The map highlights the foolishness of the former leaders of the UK. I am glad that as a citizen of Ireland I am still a citizen of the EU. An tAontas Eorpach

This EU grew ever since but never adapted / evolved in the wake. Still decisions must be taken unanimously which blocks the EU as such and gives unwanted leverage to extremists and autocrates

Proud members of European Union since 1981 🇬🇷🇪🇺

So sad that Scotland couldn't remain blue on the map. My children were born as European citizens but had that privilege removed without a say for them, Scotland having voted to remain in the EU. I hope one day soon we can return because Peace matters

Time started to run in reverse. The EU is moving towards disintegration, just like its establishment. Countries will separate one by one.
