Celebrating 25 years of Impact Day! 87% of respondents in Deloitte’s workplace volunteerism survey said volunteer opportunities are important when considering staying with their current employer or pursuing a work opportunity at a new employer. I agree… and was honored to be part of US professionals engaging in 1200+ projects Friday in our 25th Impact Day. https://lnkd.in/exBg9im7 My team went to The Ronald McDonald House on the Duke University campus. We moved furniture, prepared meals, spread mulch to help the families at the house. RMH provides support programs that improve the health and well-being for a child who is sick and their families. Their work MATTERS. #RMHDurhamWake #Hope #ImpactThatMatters #ImpactDay2025 Kelly Marchese Caroline Cox Andrews Dana O'Donovan Kwasi Mitchell Brianna Schrader

Social workers partner with people to address personal difficulties and structural barriers in their lives. They work with individuals, families, groups and communities. Social workers celebrate differences and the social work role itself is incredibly diverse. Social workers may support clients through: - one-on-one counselling and case work; - group work; - community development; - advocacy; - policy; - research and education. Social workers are trained to listen to people and support them to address personal difficulties and structural barriers in their lives. #WorldSocialWorkDay2024

In a world where businesses are the backbone of our communities, there's an increasing need to incorporate volunteer service within the workforce. This practice isn't just about giving back; it's about fostering growth, both locally and on a global scale. When companies encourage their employees to volunteer, they not only contribute to the betterment of their local communities but also gain a competitive edge. Volunteer work develops new skills, fosters teamwork, and enhances leadership abilities. It's an opportunity for employees to diversify their skillsets and expand their horizons. Furthermore, volunteer service transcends borders, bringing a global perspective to the workforce. Engaging in international volunteer projects can open doors to new markets and create a more inclusive and culturally aware work environment. This isn't just a one-way street; businesses that embrace volunteerism often find that it boosts morale, enhances their brand image, and attracts top talent who value a company's commitment to making a positive impact. So, as we look to the future, let's recognize that incorporating volunteer service within the workforce isn't just a nice thing to do; it's a smart strategy that benefits businesses, employees, and the world at large. #VolunteerService #WorkforceDevelopment #GlobalImpact #CommunityEngagement

#InternationalVolunteerDay is a reminder of the vital role volunteers play in our communities. 👏 NN's National Happiness Study confirms what many of us have long felt: 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐨.🌱 Whether it's taking a walk with an elderly person who craves social interaction or engaging in group activities with children – these are simple yet powerful actions that can uplift someone else's day and enrich our own lives in the process. Volunteering is more than an act of kindness; it's a gift that keeps on giving, to others and to yourself! 💪 In line with this spirit, NN has beautifully enabled their employees to dedicate two workdays per year to volunteer work, nurturing a corporate culture rich in empathy and community engagement. Today, we not only applaud the initiative of organizations that encourage such compassion but also want to shine a light on the volunteers themselves. To all who give their time, energy, and heart to help others—𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒚𝒐𝒖. ❤️ Your selfless contributions are the pillars of a kinder, more connected world. How does your workplace encourage acts of service? And to the volunteers among us, what motivates you to give back? 💡 #InternationalVolunteerDay #WorkplaceWellbeing #ThankAVolunteerc

"The surge in interest coming out of the pandemic-era shutdowns that forced many Americans to reevaluate their commitments to their communities led to more corporate partners, volunteer hours and active participants in 2023 than ever before," in the United States, the Associated Press reports. "Employees increasingly find that robust workplace volunteer programs meet their desires for in-person connections, professional growth and altruistically inclined employers — career objectives that might be missing in conventional corporate atmospheres." IAVE feels this. Our Global Corporate Volunteer Council (GCVC) met in London last month to sharing ideas and challenge on how to scale skills-based volunteer programs, measuring their impact, and engaging younger employees volunteers. They also discussed disaster response and cross-border volunteering. GCVC is a peer network of corporate leaders with significant global employee volunteer programs. This year is the 40th anniversary of Volunteers' Week which celebrates the amazing contributions volunteers make across the UK 🎉 Through workplace volunteering, employees can build connections with their local communities, develop new skills and give back to society while contributing to causes that tackle the issues they care about. Employers benefit by building stronger teams, improving staff morale, enhancing brand reputation and demonstrating a commitment to improving the lives of others. If you want to promote and increase employer-supported volunteering in your organisation try applying the EAST behaviour change model to your work: ➡ Make it easy - this addresses the barriers to volunteering that result from busy workloads, inertia and the status quo bias. ➡ Make it attractive - this can influence people’s behaviour because many decisions are made automatically, in the moment. We're susceptible to things that are salient and novel and appeal to our self-image. ➡ Make it social - this taps into the fact that we're social and competitive creatures who tend to follow social norms. ➡ Make it timely - this addresses the gap between intention and action. Explore practical tips and advice on boosting volunteering all year round right here 💜 👇 💜 #Communication #InternalCommunication #Culture #Inclusion #Belonging #EDI #Recruitment #Retention #CSR #Volunteering #VolunteeringWeek ………………………… Alive With Ideas is a full service communications agency fuelled by creative ideas.
