Celebrating UEFA EURO 2024 by inspiring the next generation with the world’s game ⚽.
Against the backdrop of the UEFA EURO 2024 tournament, our EA SPORTS#FC FUTURES team has been in Berlin, Germany to host local youths in training sessions led by UEFA and German Football Association coaches, alongside #FC FUTURES and adidas ambassador Ian Wright!
Held at the Home of adidas Football in the UEFA EURO 2024 Fan Zone, the event saw over 50 youths take part in training drills taken from our FC FUTURES Academy’s free-to-access, online library of practices. The sessions, which focussed on speed – as inspired by adidas’ reintroduction of the F50 football boot 👟 that features in EA SPORTS#FC 24 – formed part of our ongoing commitment to developing accessible and community-led football programmes to help grow the game for all.

Who are A22 Sports Management?⚽🧐
Amidst the melee of the powers that be at UEFA and FIFA vs those of the European Super League, there is one largely unknown entity that has emerged – A22 Sports Management.
After a ruling from the European Court of Justice stated that UEFA and FIFA had “abused their position of power,” European Club Association chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who is also the chairman of Paris Saint-Germain, said: "Who are A22? Where have they come from?” Well, let’s find out.
A22 Sports Management is a Spanish company, which was formed by Real Madrid C.F., FC Barcelona, and Juventus Football Club in 2021 to sponsor the European Super League. In 2023, Juventus dissociated with the ESL, leaving Barcelona, Real Madrid, and A22 Sports Management as the entities now pushing for the proposed league.
The company website states: 'We believe club football at European level requires fresh thinking and can be meaningfully improved by incorporating a profound respect for the game's traditions.’

In May of #2022 (before the Lionesses took over the mainstream media for their success at the #Euros), I tipped off my research for my final MBA project around #women’s #sport#sponsorship. One of the most exciting findings of my project was the debate about bundling vs unbundling men’s and women’s programs. ‘One Team, One Program’ was one of the 11 factors that I identified influence rightsholders/clubs in resolving the debate. Arsenal F.C is leading the charge in solidifying the ‘One Club’ philosophy not only for sponsorships but for ticketing programs too.
⚽What has happened?
Emirates Stadium will become Arsenal F.C Women’s main home next season!
👉🏼8 out of 11 WSL home fixtures will be played at the Emirates
👉🏼3 UEFA CL matches + knockout rounds matches too
🤩Why has it happened?
Extraordinary growth in attendance at the games hosted at the Emirates (52k fans averaged in the last 6 WSL matches)
🔥What’s the significance of this move?
The transition showcases sustainable growth and increasing commercial viability of the women’s game and how solid integration with established men’s programs can make it a win-win situation for the club overall

#UEFA#ChampionsLeague moves one step closer to its grand finale at Wembley. At Sports Business Institute Barcelona we deep-dived into the qualifying teams and found some interesting insights:
1.Revenue: Combined revenue of the top 8 in 22/23 is €5.3bn, approx. 22% of the entire European top division football (700+ clubs) and almost 50% of the top 20 revenue generating clubs!
2.Investment / MCO Network: 4 of the top 8 clubs have PE backed ownership and 6 clubs are part of the multi-club ownership network. It'll be a matter of time before UEFA will have to address this and create a framework
3.Social Media: Combined social media following (primary accounts of FB, IG, YT, X and Tiktok) is 1.38bn, almost 54% of the entire 98 clubs of ‘big 5’ leagues in the beginning of 23/24 period!
4.Squad Market Value: The top 8 teams have a combined squad market value of €7.2bn with 4 clubs have values > €1bn
Analysing the revenue and squad market values by opponents:
Analysing the revenue and squad market values by opponents:
#RealMadrid and #ManCity are almost equal in both aspects
#PSG and #FCBarcelona are identical in revenues with a significant gap in squad market values
#AtleticodeMadrid and #BVB are in similar scope in both aspect too
The only value variant seems to be in the #Arsenal - #Bayern pair
Can it be called 'Battle of Equals'? ;)

📊 Rugby Union, the version of the sport played at the Rugby World Cup, is less than 30 years old having turned professional in 1995.
📊 According to the Rugby World Cup, almost 9 million people play the game regularly in more than 130 countries.
📊 How can Rugby grow in the United States? I think they need to launch a video game...Kids are increasingly getting their first engagements with sports via video games.

New reforms for UEFA women's competitions !
The UEFA Women’s Champions League’s 16-team Group Stage will evolve into an 18-team single-league format, with teams playing three home and three away matches before progressing to a knockout round, with a view to enhancing competitive balance.
A 44-team second women’s club competition which is to be played in a straight knockout format will also be added to the calendar from the 2025/26 season. Whilst providing a second chance to some of the clubs eliminated from the early rounds of the UEFA Women’s Champions League, crucially, this competition will also provide a route to Europe for new clubs, too.

Two countries will get extra slots in the upcoming UEFA Champions League season.
As of now, Germany and England would secure spots due to their current lead in the seasonal coefficient ranking.
However, others can surpass them.
By the way, are you aware that the world's most prestigious football club tournament is undergoing a major format change?
Just a reminder, there won't be group stages anymore.
Opponents in each of the 8 rounds will be determined by a draw using the Swiss system.
There will be one table for all 36 teams.
The top 8 teams will advance to the round of 16, while the clubs placed 9th to 24th will play in the round of 32.
Seems unusual for now, but UEFA isn't new to experiments.
But it's okay as long as footballers delight us with spectacular gameplay!

🏴 🤝 🇪🇸Bridging Borders: La Liga Meets Welsh Football! What does this collaboration mean for our sport? 🤔⚽️
Very interesting to see LALIGA making inroads into Welsh football, becoming the official front-of-shirt partner for CPD Llanfairpwll FC in the 2023/24 season.
👕 The 'LL' logo of La Liga gracing CPD Llanfairpwll FC's shirts signifies more than just branding. It's a strategic move that brings together the rich heritage of La Liga and the growing potential of Welsh football.
🌍 What excites me most is the activation and exposure that this partnership promises. La Liga's commitment to spreading "The Power of Our Fútbol" in North Wales through various initiatives is a fantastic opportunity to witness the impact of strategic partnerships on the local and global scale.
🎮 The league’s recent partnership with EA SPORTS for FC 24 further demonstrates the league’s commitment to grassroots level initiatives, promoting accessibility and improving facilities where possible - which I think is an excellent move for all involved.
🙌 This collaboration sets a strong example for young professionals like myself, showcasing the immense potential within football's wider commercial landscape. It's a reminder that our industry is dynamic, full of opportunities, and open to fresh perspectives no matter the location.
