Hola, our first kickoff event of the year was "Hot ♨ and Spicy 🌶 " at the Taco 🌮 Bar! DRT employees convened for a Team Lunch at the Arlington Headquarters. A big shout out and thank you to Tracy Rudy, Tyler Nicklyn, Jackie Granzow, and the team for planning and organizing this event.

Have you ever worked in a business like this? Team members get promoted for their hard work and dedication. Only then to recieve no support or training in their new role. I use the nightclub analogy. 🕺 Team members are the dancers on the dancefloor. 💃 Managers are the best dancers on the floor. ( You know the ones. The ones that other dancers emulate.) 🎶 Directors, however are the DJ's. Directors manage the room. They set the pace, the tone and the culture of the night. Will the dancers dance? Will they stand at the sides, confused? Will they go to another, better nightclub? How can your team transition through their respective roles: 🚫 Without training? 🚫 Without support? 🚫 Without a clear vision of the goals. The best example of support I can remember being given was by my good friend Kevin Kelly. He was my manager on my first day at Pitney Bowes literally 20 years ago!!! Kevin told me that if I wanted, he'd get me my 1st sale. He was happy to do it, but then I'd NEVER know that I could do it myself. I refused and got my first ever sale that day. Second venue in one location opened last month , on the same street 🚀 Footfall, is one of the most important elements when selecting location of your business. Questions to ask yourself: ☑️ Will you naturally generate customers based on your location? ☑️ What can you do different to stand out from the other bars and restaurants within walking distance from your location? ☑️ How can those bars and restaurants compliment what you offer and your menu? We have partnered with others bars within a stone throw away. Why? Because they offer something we can’t. We don’t do kitchens, or food. The overheads are too expensive and within this market it’s quite risky. We partner with other local business owners close by to provide our customers top quality food while they’re enjoying the best drinks on the street. Over a year ago my husband, Dean Peaple , joined this company to launch a new division of window coverings. Through operations and production challenges, changes in leadership and the minimal marketing support common with ‘startups’ - my husband never gave up! I have watched him be tenacious and creative, using common sense, guerilla tactics, and teamwork- always finding a way. I know the road is long, - and I admire my husbands patience and perseverance.
