Once upon a time, I heard a tale from a prominent client who bluntly remarked, "This isn't a family here, it's an industry." 🥵 Those words resonated deeply when I learned about the experiences of the employees. They described a founder who lacked empathy, resulting in lost clients, high turnover rates, and a stressful atmosphere. These insights were gleaned during the brand diagnosis phase of our branding work, where we delve into corporate culture and leadership styles. It became evident that the founder believed treating employees well would lead to exploitation and harm to the company. However, we firmly believe that fostering radical trust within the team strengthens bonds and builds an even stronger brand. Here are some additional benefits of cultivating a friendly corporate culture: Increased Employee Engagement: When employees feel valued and supported, they are more likely to be engaged and committed to their work. This leads to higher productivity and innovation. The key query is not: What is wrong with Gen Z, but how can we engage all employees, including Gen Z, to craft a workable world of work where humans and business and the environment can thrive? These questions might usefully occupy managers and leaders of workforces with increasing numbers of Gen Z employees if they are to maximize the contribution of a generation that will represent more than a quarter of the working population by next year.
