Everything you produce should have a specific person in mind. Your target client isn’t everyone! When working with one of my recent clients I asked: “So tell me about your target audience.” She responded, “Oh everyone comes in, we serve everyone for 5 to 95” 🛑🛑🛑 Wait, let’s back it up! Yes, everyone from the ages of 5-95 might be coming in to your facility. But that’s not your target client. Your target client is the person that makes the buying decision. We eventually found out they are a family-centered business and it was typically young or middle aged moms coming in with their kids. PERFECT! → Our starting point for our target client is now: Moms between the ages of 25 and 50 → We can now begin stacking additional qualifications or interests on top of this broad cohort of people. The point is, identifying EXACTLY who you are talking to will shape how you present your business. Speak to the values and interests you know your target audience will resonate better with.

I have B.I.G. tattooed on my ankle. It's old and blotchy, and kind of black now, but the meaning remains vibrant. ;) That's how long the women of this organization have been part of my personal and professional life.
