Reposting this - there is available funding for Cyber initiatives this year, and executive orders to create urgency.
The era of ‘demos not memos’ has begun.
Congratulations to the amazing leaders in Cybersecurity Ilona Simpson and Charisse Castagnoli for their appointment to the Board of Directors of the Forte Group!
As the Chair of the Forte Group's board, I'm thrilled to welcome them and appreciate the support from the community.
As the Forte Group expands from our mission of 'changing the face of Cybersecurity leadership', to reach the EMEA market and to focus on helping our CISO and Chief Privacy officer members navigate challenges in their roles (generativeAI, ransomware, working out consistently..) we are thrilled to include these two new amazing leaders to our Board of Directors.
Forte is a group of nearly 100 powerhouse leaders in Cybersecurity that happen to be women. Please join our other board members Chenxi Wang, Ph.D., Zenobia G., Summer Craze Fowler, Swathi Joshi, Yael N., Flora J. Garcia, Caroline Wong in welcoming Ilona Simpson, and Charisse Castagnoli to help bring this 501 c(3) to new heights!

The study found that 57% of companies in the S&P 500 lack specialized experience in non-cyber technology categories and 88% do not currently have an executive with specialized cybersecurity experience on their board to guide them on risk mitigation efforts…
I’m passionate about helping boards find great leaders, and thought this work by NightDragon and their partners was important and worth re-sharing.
With over 422.14 million individuals in the U.S. being impacted by cyberattacks in 2022, it’s no surprise that cybersecurity has become an increasingly important topic of conversations with organizational leaders and board members.
A joint report from NightDragon and Diligent found that the majority - 57% - of the nation’s largest and most influential companies on the S&P 500 lack
specialized experience in technology areas creating a significant experience
gap when it comes to managing and mitigating cyber risks.

Sharing this report about VC Platform and exactly how top firms add value and support their portfolios, Cory Bolotsky, Dale Chang, Joshua Goodfield, kudos. Great report.
VC Platform Consultant | Establishing community and talent strategies for the world's top VCs
I have long believed it is undeniable that VC Platform folks do tremendous work which drives fund returns, but it’s never been easy to measure how this actually contributes to a firm’s performance.
Over the last year, the VC Platform Global Community board, led by Dale Chang and myself, and with the support of our friends at Zendesk for Startups, decided to go deep in the data to see if we could measure this intuitive feeling we had.
Today, we finally published our findings: powerof.vcplatform.com
I am excited to have this research out in the wild, and to provide a bit more insight into the historical impact that VC Platform teams have had on their firms. I hope that with the help of this report the entire industry – LPs, GPs, Platform leaders and entrepreneurs – can start to validate what they previously only had anecdotal reasons to believe; the Power of Platform is real and it contributes to VC Firm’s ultimate goal of producing outsized returns.

I’m thrilled to announce that I have joined the AaDya (a-day-a) board of directors.
Here’s why:
-The technology is purpose-built for small agencies and enterprises (my IT friends have larger home networks than some small businesses do), and it’s a legit full-stack security solution with frameworks, compliance, and user training
-There is built-in services automation #meetjudy, powered by AI
-It’s a channel-first GTM
-The culture is awesome, inclusive, diverse and customer-first. The board is mostly women in an industry that still has percentages in the low teens for women leaders
-It actually works, and it’s super easy for #msps to deploy, support and make GP
-It’s cost effective for an under-served market #security for all
-The company has amazing investors and the runway to thrive

"Along with the funding round, AaDya is also announcing its new board of directors which includes a majority of experienced female cybersecurity executives–a rare occurrence in what is typically a male-centric industry."
I'm so grateful these very talented individuals who are experts in the industry are now part of our journey. We are a culture of diversity and inclusion in all aspects of what we do, and we will continue to push ourselves to be different in every way possible from the rest of the industry. Board members include Julie Cullivan, Didi Dayton, Laura Sillman, Tom Lazay and Raffaele Mautone. Cybersecurity and channel veteran, Lisa Matherly will serve as an advisor for the marketing and channel teams.
The picture below puts the biggest smile on my face. Time for you to meet Judy! 🧡
