On the back of the post below, I met up with Frédéric Raillard (also co-founder of Fred and Farid) last week to dig into GenAI and the creative process some more (thanks Fred!). We can debate all day/night on the pros and cons of the output and quality, and honestly, I actually want to, and I can see both sides (today) but like it or not one clear takeaway from me is that AI is not only here to stay but it adds so much value in so many ways. As I said to Fred at the time, this can and will: - Make production like quality more accessible to the masses - take out the major cost of production and time it takes to significantly lower costs - Exponentially improve time to market for major campaigns in particular, month-to-days on a ton of work in the mix - Conceptualize ideas far quicker and (for me) aid internal sell-in for those who cannot 'see' concepts - Dramatically improve adapts and speed to respond to the market real time - Churn out true DCO en masse that blows the… of A/B testing possibilities to not only optimize media investment but with creative that works beyond a dollar dump. - Expose new/different avenues for brands to explore around their very identity and purpose (true fit to core audience) We’re already at a tipping point today… this is not just about lower funnel assets and photography, AI as a tool in the hands of skilled creatives can go head to head with traditional methods, especially in production. So can #GenAI help marketing and replace creativity? Great panels and insights yesterday at #TheStudio event by HotTopics, hosted in Abbey Road Studios. As one might guess, we talked a lot about technology and of course #AI, and pondered about differentiation and creativity in a world of (too many?) democratised tools and apps. The answer was clear and somewhat straightforward: technology can help you, as long as you remember what you’re trying to achieve.
