The results of the recent Hatch study into NOVONIX’s all-dry, zero-waste cathode synthesis process show a potentially significant reduction in waste and emissions to produced Cathode Active Materials (CAM). According to the study, NOVONIX’s process may reduce power needs by an estimated 25%. NOVONIX’s process is estimated to consumer fewer natural resources, require significantly less reagents, and generate less residues – contributing to a more environmentally friendly and safer process. Click the link to see our CEO, Dr. Chris Burns, delve a bit deeper into the study and its implications for NOVONIX. https://hubs.li/Q023nZBN0 #EV #NOVONIX #batterymaterials #cleanenergy #sustainability #electricvehicles #NVX #batterysupplychain

State-funded collaborative project: "PARITY-4-REUSE" aims to revolutionize the recyclability of Type 4 Pressure Vessels 🌿 Currently, the production of Type 4 pressure tanks is based on a thermoset matrix, which is only very limitedly recyclable. However, the issue of "reusability of plastic products" is becoming increasingly important. Energy transition and reduced CO2 emissions #climateneutrality A consortium of industry and research has set itself this ambitious goal: to develop a PA 6-based Type 4 pressure tank that can be recycled and sustainably reintegrated into the material cycle. The project started on October 1, 2023, and will run for three years. Project coordination is handled by Elkamet Kunststofftechnik GmbH / Elkamet Rotomolding, supported by the engineering service provider ISATEC GmbH as a subcontractor. Additionally, the companies Roth Composite Machinery GmbH and Siebenwurst GmbH & Co. KG, as well as the Technische Universität München (Technical University of Munich) with the Chair of Carbon Composites, are involved. An associated partner is HYDAC Group Technologies GmbH. Parity-4-Reuse is funded within the framework of the National Innovation Program for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP II) with a total of €1,097,350.46 by the Bundesministerium für Digitales und Verkehr (BMDV). The funding directive is coordinated by NOW GmbH and implemented by Projektträger Jülich (PtJ). #ShapingTheFutureWithRotomolding #ElkametRotomolding #recycling #Type4pressurevessel #hydrogen

Huntsman Corp. has commenced work on a 30 ton per year Miralon carbon nanotube materials plant, output from which can be used for specialty concrete admixtures, high-performance composites, electric vehicle batteries and long-wear tires. Miralon structural carbon comprises nanotube-based materials produced as additives, dispersions, sheets or yarn. The materials are lightweight, thinner than a human hair, up to 25 times stronger than steel, and electrically or thermally conductive. Set to be one of the largest of its kind in the Americas, the Miralon pilot plant will convert methane gas to carbon nanotubes and clean-burning hydrogen. Huntsman officials view it as a major step in carbon nanotube technology commercialization and the potential usher of an industrial-scale production facility.

A MATERIAL WORLD – AN IN2TEC RESPONSE The newly published book ‘A Material World – A Substantial Story of Our Past and Future’ by Ed Conway investigates the reality of the move to Net Zero on our resources, the impact of geopolitical tensions in China, and where the UK stands as a post-industrial economy. The book also explores if it is realistically achievable to reach Net Zero without the continued exploitation of sand, salt, iron, copper, oil, and lithium, many of which are used in the production of electronics and electrical equipment. The overuse of such materials globally will result in increased costs until they run out. In2tec Ltd’s sustainable electronics programmes ReUSE® and ReCYCLE™ provide the solution to the shortages of key materials and minerals and to reliably reuse electronic components is a key requirement in minimising the shortages and near-future depletion. #sustainability #netzero #electronics #global full story: https://lnkd.in/e-Je9QRV
