NEW INTERESTING FEATURE FOR HOTELS IN META ADS.
"Highlight Your Promo Code" is in roll out. Currently only few selected accounts, but potentially useful, especially for us in the hospitality sector.
Quite self-explanatory, this feature allows hotels to insert a promo code to be communicated to the target audience, which can then be used automatically or manually during the checkout process on the Booking Engine, granting potential guests discounts or additional benefits of your choice.
I see this as particularly useful, for direct-booking purposes of course, if used in retargeting and without negative impact on OTAs' ranking and visibility.
Imagine you select only your retargeting audiences to be displayed with such promo code: this way, public rates remain unchanged, avoiding disparity (and ranking drawbacks), but you still provide a benefit to those who have visited your hotel site, encouraging them to choose your direct channel over OTAs.
Of course, this needs to be managed well (indeed I am typically not much in favour of discounts), but it's a tool that can definitely help.
Hopefully this feature becomes available to all accounts soon. In the meantime, I'll start testing it and see what kind of feedback we get.
