Rewards, Recognition and Well-being Leader at Deloitte US | Empowering our People to Thrive Mentally, Physically, and Financially | Lead Consulting Principal | Government & Public Services

After enjoying our #CollectiveDisconnect last week, I've returned feeling re-energized and refreshed. I spent the extended break at the beach with my family and cheered my son on at his baseball tournament in Massachusetts. These moments with loved ones are not only joyful but vital, offering a fresh perspective on what truly matters in life. At Deloitte, we recognize the significance of stepping away from work to recharge. Our Collective Disconnects are specially designed to extend certain holidays, providing longer periods for our team to unwind without work interruptions. This intentional break is crucial for fostering joy and fulfillment in both our personal and professional lives. These periods of rest are reminders of why taking time off is key to bringing our best selves to work. Deloitte's generous time-off policy supports our team's #wellbeing and is a cornerstone of our people-first culture. It sustains personal wellness and opens up mental space for creativity, allowing us to refocus and realign with our goals.   What did you do, or plan to do, this summer to recharge and reset? Love this! When I worked at Deloitte in the early days of my career, working 24/7 was considered a badge of honor, a requirement for promotion to the next level, and also seemingly aligned with the Deloitte value of delivering exceptional client service. To see a concept of “Collective Disconnect” practiced and celebrated at Deloitte is extremely progressive and demonstrates a large, established company’s ability to transform its culture. Well done! You’re an inspiration for so many other organizations who might believe that real change is unattainable.

I love this! Next week my daughter is going to sleepaway camp for the first time. While she's away, I'm hosting three of my college roommates (that I met 33 years ago!) for "adult sleepaway camp." And my picture may be similar to yours in that, one that I call "family" is also a fellow Deloitter!

Great to see you and your family enjoying time together. As leaders, it’s important to model and reinforce that stepping away is as critical as demonstrating high performance for sustainable success. Kudos to you! We traveled abroad and experienced Europe in June and will wind down for a week at the beach next month. #worklifewellbeing
