Husband, Dad (x3), Technologist, Advisor & Board Member, ex. Amazon, ex. Microsoft, 8 x VC-backed startups (3 x active, 1 x IPO, 3 x exits, 2 x lifelong lessons)
I absolutely love this video. I 💯 believe and agree we should spend our time focusing on Atoms (and molecules) and high(er) energy Electrons - the role of low-energy electrons (some of you call it software) is as an enabler to move & organize atoms purposefully around. ...but the irony of too-many VCs waiving this flag while themselves being advanced financilization shops - and mostly funding categories like Crypto (pyramids), GenAI (brainwashing bullshit & stupidification machines) or VR (escapist dystopian platforms) is thick. ...what got us in trouble in the first place is runaway financilization - partially thanks to GE and Welchism, but he does not deserve the full credit- financilization made a lot of people extremely rich and subject of emulation - it's an addiction to short term "easy" money we need to stop. Easy may be fast but too often causes harmful side effects & has limited moat. Hard may be hard and take time, but you are fixing the world and building a deep & wide moat. More atoms, more high power electrons- and more software that helps them! You know who you are - time to double down. Shoutout to a few teams right in the center of this: Ascent AeroSystems & Robinson Helicopter Company, Aerolane, Data Blanket ... and many others - you know who you are.
It's time to reindustrialize. I made this for Reindustrialize 2024 which brought thousands of industry leaders to Detroit, MI to discuss the future of American industry. Thank you Aaron Slodov and Mike Slagh for putting in so much work behind the scenes to make this happen for the community. Let's build the future.

President and CEO at Robinson Helicopter Company| Delivering Accessible, Efficient, and Safe Crewed and Uncrewed Helicopters
Great video! This is one of my favorite topics and one of the chief reasons I joined Robinson Helicopter Company. I have seen too much complexity and fragility in the supply chains of modern A&D firms. There is a better way! RHC has spent the last 50 years vertically integrating more and more of the supply chain to make our class leading light helicopters. We make the most affordable and accessible helicopters in the world from our factory in Torrance, California. RHC is an American success story and shines as an example of what can be built by American hands and American minds. The manufacturing capabilities of RHC and the desire to offer more American-made aircraft were key reasons why we acquired Ascent AeroSystems earlier this year. In the years to come, we will demonstrate how the US can offer large scale and affordable production of highly differentiated UAS platforms. America is behind in the drone industry, but nothing stops us from regaining the lead. I strongly believe we should invest in our workers and our children by reindustrializing. We must ensure that the next generation of Americans make great things. #Reindustrialize https://lnkd.in/g8uvae8u

Whether attributed to Peter Drucker, Denis Weitly, or Abraham Lincoln (as many believe), the sentiment that 'the best way to predict the future is to create it' holds profound relevance in light of today's technological advancements. With Digital Twins, we have the unprecedented ability to envision and preempt on-site challenges from the very inception of a project. By harnessing the power of Digital Twins, we can shape the future by foreseeing and addressing potential obstacles before they arise, laying a solid foundation for success.

Quoting Gennaro Cuofano from the FourWeekMBA's newsletter: Is Tesla just a car company? In summary Linear vs. Non-Linear Competition: While short-term competition may appear linear, long-term developments can create entirely new industries that disrupt established ones. Adaptation is Crucial: Embracing technological changes and adopting a non-linear perspective on market analysis are key to staying competitive in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. Reading the article about non-linear competition in the long run, I drew parallels to the strategic innovation systems and disruptive innovation defined by TWIN Global founder Robert C. Wolcott Paradigms, Peripheries, and Proximities.
