In this new landscape of hybrid work, the traditional office setup, with its dedicated desks and personal workstations, is becoming obsolete. Instead, spaces are being reimagined to foster collaboration and interaction. This change acknowledges that while individual tasks can be efficiently handled remotely, the office’s value lies in its capacity for collaboration, brainstorming, and team-building activities.

You are back in the office and the only one you meet looks something like this nice guy - then obviously something went wrong! 🤔 Empty office, full calendar! According to a survey result the ifo Institute – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research shared in May this year that the unused office space in Germany is three times higher than before Corona. So does #hybridwork offer too many options and lead to a waste of corporate resources? And office space is only one resource when we talk about hybrid work. Or is hybrid work a powerful work model that enables each of us to do a better job? My views on this 🙌 Hybrid Work requires our rethinking in the way we make decisions, leverage office facilities and resources, how we communicate, structure our work and how we set priorities. Why this? Because there are simply too many options to just keep it running and hope to get a great benefit out of it. Hybrid Work brought a massive gain in #flexibility and flexibility is a huge competitive advantage that we should leverage and foster! This helps me to benefit from hybrid work, and maybe it can also help you? 1. Build skills and gain knowledge around the possibilities a Digital Workplace offers me as a persona for my way of hybrid work and choose your ideal devices to access and use digital services. Continue learning and exploring new possibilities, because there are continuously new features coming through the digital workplace. 2. Structure your communication, collaboration and information exchange preferences for yourself and within your team. Leave room for individual and spontaneous activity but also anchors both, physical and virtual exchange in your meeting routines. Offices offer a great environment to connect with people and to be creative together and can foster the team spirit and corporate DNA. Thus articulate and sync your office days with your teammates to ensure you are not alone. However remote means flexibility and often simply reduces effort for many type of exchange requirements. Good balance is key and each has its advantages. 3. Set priorities. Sounds so easy but is hard to achieve especially when floated with information and topics. However, not all can be treated with the same urgency and attention. Soon AI and automation will free up time and accomplish many time consuming tasks but priority setting will remain important to keep control and focus. #whatsyourviewonthis #digitalworkplace #peoplematter

If you're trying to get people back into the office, remember this— mandates are not nearly as effective as magnets. Magnets draw people to work because there is something special about the office that allows them to do their job more efficiently or creatively.
